Default Walked away from a Muscletang, but that's a given. It got much better.

Last night on the interstate on my way back to Atlanta, I encountered a "very rare" breed of automobile: The GT Mustang. As it passed me I could see that it was lowered, had fatty tires, and some exhaust mods. It also had a checkered flag graphic running down the side that not only made it a real racecar, but had to add at least 13 rwhp...

Initially, he didn't act like he wanted any, mostly because I wasn't a real sports car like him. But once I flexed a bit for him, he geared down and nailed it. I responded to his beckon call with a stiff thrust of my right foot and two solid flicks to the left with my right hand. Instantly I put two carlengths on him. We slowed back down to about 60 and he wanted to try again. He honks and we hammer them down. This time is even worse as we kicked it at the same time.

Oh my God, imagine what I could have done if I had the Code 3 Pulley installed, right Dan? C3P! C3P! C3P! I could outrun anything with that Code 3 Pulley!!!!!!! lmao.

Safe to say that the Muscletang owner's probably buying more graphics or a diffuser or something so he can beat me next time...

But the real fun of last night happened 20 or so minutes later. If you guys are like me, when you see another SRT vehicle, specifically an SRT8, you get excited and say what's up to the other driver. You know, say "nice ride man," think of them as your brother, running buddy, part of our fraternity, whatever etc etc.

So I see this SRT8 Magnum ahead of me. I run up beside him and it's 2 young fellas who return my head nod and instantly put 3 carlengths on me. I love this ****. I hit it and run with him for a little bit. We're having fun listening to one another flooring it. I loved the throaty V8, hopefully he liked my "whiny" V6. Either way, I was a bit quicker since I think he was stock. But hell, that thing would move. We're having a lot of fun and when it couldn't get better, We speed past an SRT8 Charger. Oh man, did she catch up in a hurry. Yes, she. Badass huh. And she was young and very easy on the eyes.

Long story short, the 3 SRT's had a lot of fun owning the interstate last night in Atlanta. I'd like to think I was the fastest (probably) and best looking (to each their own) car of the trio. But either way, I felt so lucky because unless you see these SRT's all day every day, which I hardly ever see one, you can imagine how cool it was to run 3 deep. Just wanted to share my bliss.

Just remember, Flyboy, ALL Mustangs are fffffast, well at least if you own one!
I can't throw a blade of grass around my wee little town (pop. 4952) without hitting a Mustang in some variety. We've got old ones & new ones & convertibles & GT's & beat to crap 5.0's (which are terribly fast per the owners) galore. There's some guy down the block who just HAS to stomp on his lime green non-GT everytime he drives past my house. Green paint is fast, ya know!
Now, to top it off, there's a kid who has parked his 5.0 (no idea what year it is) next to where my wife parks the Coupe for sale along Hwy. 45 at her grocery store. Every other day or so he stops in & pesters my wife about how his car (missing the front bumper, first $1000 takes it) can whomp on the Coupe. Frankly, it looks as though the whole car will disintegrate as soon as it's driven faster than 60 or so.
I mentioned this before on this forum but the Alabaster White will stay dead even with any non-modded pre '04 GT. Not bad for mere Chrysler!
Man, I dislike Stang arrogance!

That's why it is known as British Racing Green. And we know how the British are famous for thier wins at Le Mans, Monaco, Mille Miglia, and even Daytona.

There are a handful of fast stangs for cheap. Over at DFWstangs.net my buddy picked up a bottle fed 800rwhp show car quality paint job, rollcage, fully built motor, blah, blah, blah 10sec 98' cobra for 10K.

In the end its still a stang. I respect them for what they are.

Kinda like strippers...ok i digress.

Try driving around Detroit! Mustangs are about as rare as oxygen here!

I am still but only for about another 3-weeks a mustang owner, but like the SRT6 I chose a rare Mustang... '85 1/2 Mustang SVO one of 439, 205 hp out of a turbo four 0-60 in 6.6 back in '85.

I enjoyed it get a lot of comliments but the V8 Mustang guys even snub their nose at the SVO. lol They are so thick headed.

And wasn't the SVO one of the best handling Mustangs ever?

That it was... First and last mustang to have 4-wheel disc brakes until the 93 cobra, first US made car to hare flush headlights, and first US production turbo car to come stock witha an intercooler.

I believe I'll buy anohther one someday but am forced to sell this one to keep my SRT6

I don't see myself ever selling my SRT6

I've seen a Chrystler 300 srt8 in my area. I tried to keep up with it, but there was too much traffic and the guy driving it was a complete lunatic. I'm not sure if the srt6 could keep up with that beast on a clear path.

If both cars are stock the 6 should be able to nudge it out. Anything modded on the 8 and we're pretty much done

Iv seen ouite a few 300 SRT8's about but never a SRT6 or GC SRT8(except in my garage!) I think it would be a drivers race SRT6 or 300SRT8 !
I know there are a few SRT6's in MPLS that are on this board but have not seen one !

about.com rates the 2008 mustang gt at a 1/4 Mile Time: 13.8 seconds

give it it a few bolt ons i still dont see it hanging with the srt6. i doubt cai, headers and exhaust will take it to low 12's on street tires like our cars do.

SRT-8's are plentiful around here. i've seen a few SRT-4's, and there's one of those on my street.

SRT-6's, however...i see mine and that's it.

It is a driver's race unless you both start at the exact same time. When both of these were stock my 300c srt8 has the edge down under 100mph and my wifes srt6 over...I'm guessing aerodynamics and weight are key here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw3k72e726M

This video was my 8 modified versus my wife's stock 6. We put the Needswings CAI on hers since this video was shot and we are back neck and neck again. Dollar per horsepower for bolt on's is much cheaper on the 6 for the gains received than for the 8's by far.

Just thinking about it some more, the GCSRT8 should be even quicker on bottom and softer on the top than the normal 8 & 6....
