Getting another Key?
Getting another Key?
I may have lost one of the keys for the SRT-6. I did some searches and see some people have bought the keys from their dealer for pretty cheap, under $75 or so (I guess all Crossfires use the same key?). I called a few local dealers and have had quotes from $130-$200 (just for the key, not even to program it... which I see from a few other threads that I can do myself). Anyone have input on the cheapest place/dealer to get a replacement key? I have seen the cheap ones on ebay, but then I guess I would have to find someone to cut the key and would rather not go that route.
Re: Getting another Key?
You have to buy it from a dealer and provide the VIN. You can program it yourself. I've seen prices from $140 (which I bent over and paid) to $75. I think the cute women in FLA get the cheap keys. Unless you can persuade one of them to buy and ship, all you can do is call around.
It would be a very unscrupulous dealer who took the order over the phone and mailed a key. Great way for a car thief to steal a car.
