Only ~ 70 SRT-6's For Sale
Only ~ 70 SRT-6's For Sale
I was checking Autotrader and Ebay today and there are only around 70 total SRT-6's for sale right now. How hard are they going to be to come by in a year or two and how expensive are they going to be? I wanted to pay off my Limited first before I traded up but I'm almost afraid that by the time that happens there won't be any left especially none that are low mileage. I know there are other really nice cars but I just don't think there's anything in this price range that even comes close.
Re: Only ~ 70 SRT-6's For Sale
There's a blue SRT roadster with 5,700 miles on it, on Autotrader for $13 grand!!
Can you believe that? If I could afford another car right now, I would buy it and stick it in storage. Talk about rare: only 900-some made - ever. That car will be worth some money someday as long as someone takes care of it.

I'll probably have mine for sale in a few years. I'm hoping by that time to move into a stock class to be able to run at national events. It should have low miles, since it's a 1/4 mile at a time. I should have my uncle's 55 by then. He's not ready to pass it just yet. My dad bought this car in 58' and gave it to his brother when he moved to AZ. It's still in the same condition as 50 years ago. This is probably the only car I will sell the 6 for.

I saw a small handful of gasser tri-year Chevy's at this years LA Roadster show (in the parking lot of course). I feel in love with a burgundy '57 with a blown and injected rat motor.
Re: Only ~ 70 SRT-6's For Sale
I had a '69 Z-28...what are the prices today...I gave 3200 dollars for it new in 1969. I had a '71 Big Block SS 396 Camaro, bought it new in late 1971...what are the prices today....I don't care what people think about the SRT6 Roadsters, I bought it for fun, but for an investment as well...I was young and dumb back in those days...now here is a car abandoned by its maker on two sides...shoot, look at Deloreans (sp) what are they selling for? I still think, keep it clean, keep it stock, keep the miles low...I will retire completely, hopefully in 16 yrs...this time I want to say, yes I HAVE one of those home in the garage Barrett/Jackson...what are they worth today...

The same amount will be for sale; but less will be in existance due to wrecks, and the price will drop to about $12-15 for an average car an $17-18 for a "low mileage classic". These aren't sought after collector cars.............the only thing they seem to collect is dust (from sitting on a car lot or in someones garage).

I am just afraid that one day people are going to awaken to the fact of how amazing these cars are and what a great price they are sold for and ****** them all up. I have only seen one SRT-6 in person and I had no clue what it was. It didn't have the SRT badge on it so I just thought it was a newer model Crossfire because I was not knowledgable at all of our cars at the time. A private owner had it for sale about 10 miles from where I live. It was Graphite and gorgeous but the for sale sign had no phone number or information and the business and gas station it was parked outside of I went into both and nobody knew anything about it. Then one day, it was gone. Now that I know it was a 6 right next to me that I could be driving right now, it makes me sick. haha I LOVE my Crossfire but as rare as it is for me to see an NA (maybe once or twice a month) that is the only SRT I have ever seen in my life. Almost certainly I will have to fly somewhere and get the car and bring it back when I purchase it. I just will seriously cry if I never get to own an SRT. haha I have never felt this way about a car before and I can only imagine the 6's are an even better feeling because then you get the satisfaction of knowing you can outrun 95% of the cars on the road (probably every single one where I live because the fastest things I see are 350Z's, Mustangs, Trans-Am's, etc). I just can't really afford to do it at the moment because I'm in school and working and I doubt the bank would let me refinance to get another car so quickly. I'm in a pickel.

Just stay in school, get a good education, make something of yourself and then you can buy that garaged kept SRT-6. IF that’s still what you want then. Who knows, you could be the next Bill Gates and buy up all the remaining SRT-6’s.
