Question Longest Time in for Service?

My SRT6 has been in for service for 16 days now. (June 5-June 21). I don't know when it will be done.

The problems:
1. Rough idle + CEL. First MAP sensor didn't fix it. They ordered another one.

2. The lock for the telescoping steering wheel didn't catch. (it would telescope while driving) They ordered a second round of parts on June 19th.

The $1M question:
What's the longest time you've been without your SRT6 because of warranty work?

Wow, that sucks. I swear Chrysler should just contract our warranty out to mercedese dealerships. Chrysler mechanics never know anything about these cars.

5 weeks to replace supercharger... most of the time was waiting for s/c to get shipped from Germany.

I fear that the gear for my steering wheel is made by some 100 year old Bavarian guy, living next door to the old guy who makes the German coo-coo clocks.

5 weeks doesn't seem like too long for a supercharger, relatively speaking. Hopefully, it doesn't take that long for what I thought were simple isssues. The guys at the dealership have always treated me well, so I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Tulsa,

Have them check the seals on the pressure valve for the fuel pump. Go back and find my post. My car would do this also at idle. Basically, the car didn't have enough fuel pressure at idle because it was leaking down, hence the rough idle and CEL.

Worth a shot. Mine was likely caused from sitting on the lot too long (right next to yours at Bonham).

Nope. My dealership treats me well. I had the CAI on when I've brought it in for service, and they didn't say anything. I even got two new wheels under warranty. (spider crazing)

Thank you for staying with us Shawn. I will mention it when I bring in my low-dust brakepads tomorrow.

Unhappy Crossfire Guts!!!

Here's what I saw at the dealership today. Now it has been 22 days, and I miss my car.

Sorry to hear about your XF Troubles, SRT6nTulsa

Is that stereo face removable?

If so, I'd take it home with me. Not saying anything about the dealerships, but open like that, anyone could walk off with that thing, even non-dealership employees.

Update: 35 Days, now. I had it for a couple of days, but the CEL came back on after my new ECU started logging MAP sensor errors.

Talking Re: Longest Time in for Service?

got it on Ebay, used, could not get the extended warranty, so I roll my own and do everything myself. From the limited slip rear addition and exhaust design to reparing the crankshaft problem with the pulley. Enjoying WOODY

BUT I take if off-the road for engineering fun, No tickets and I get it back when I wanna. Currently thermally monitoring the S/C cooling system and adding a Much bigger and more effective H/E as the stock and LET dont get the job done from my findings. Want a fan on it and real surface area, project next.

Purchased "Used" with 18 miles, and perhaps my mechanic just needs to ask for help. The service manager said they are calling in a life line tomorrrow.
