Talking New owner in Washington

Hello everyone !!

Just got my Xfire SRT6 last weekend. It's been sitting at the dealer since original delivery and I had been droolling over it since. So till now, it had never been licensed and spent most of the time in the showroom. This one is an Aero Blue Coupe. Most the miles on it were put on be me when the Dealership would let me take it out for a spin while I was waiting for the Sebring to be serviced

Besides saying hello, I also wanted to say how glad I was to have found this site. When I drove it home I had noticed that the fan was loud. I mean really loud. Then I took it to work to show it off and I noticed that the temp got hotter than I would have expected on the way home. Being too late to take it to the dealer I thought I'd check online for any Crossfire SRT6 forums to see what was normal. I found this place and almost right off the bat found a post here where someone else was asking about excessive fan noise and high temps. You all responded that on some of the SRT6's, the fan wiring was reversed. So I went out. Started the her up and sure enough, when the fan came one it was rotating in the opposite direction that it should be. I looked at the connector from the PWM to the fan and saw that was reversed (I have dealt with a lot of European electronic equipment and instrumentation in my occupation so am familiar with their color coding). Matched up the connectors properly and all has been well since

A big Thank you to everyone here!!!

Now, off to find my brother in-law with his 350Z

Thanks for the warm welcome

Looks like there's plenty of good info here and I'm looking forward to checking into some of the mod's that you all have tried out. I've already noticed that there are some that seem to be quite popular amoung you all.

Thanks again!!

Welcome I to have the Aero Blue, As to the temp where on your guage is it running:
Generally Without modifications SRT's run just a hair below the 9 oclock mark on the Temp guage.
But as far as a noisy fan???
Where in Washington?
Good to have you on board.
Enjoy the Ride...
Mike

Montana,
With the wiring reversed, the fan was rotating in the wrong direction. Trying to force air back through the radiator instead of pulling it through. That, and the aerodynamics of the blades not meant to rotate in that direction, resulted in it being very load when the fan turned on.

Yes, now the temps run just shy of 9 o'clock under normal driving conditions.
