Default New guy to the board...

Hi everyone.

I'm thinking about traiding or selling my NSRT4 for a SRT6. I have it slightly modded and love the car still.
03- with less than 17k on it.
Stage 1
3" Turbo back exhaust
Gold line springs
STS..
bla
bla
bla bla

Really what I don't like about the car is the FWD. This is getting kinda old.
The Viper seats.. very unconfortable for any time more than 45 minutes in the car.
The ride comfort... there is none. Could be due to the seats or / and the lowering springs.

Not sure if I want to sink in the money for a S3 kit. 355hp is very appealing though. But can I get any of it to the ground? Most likely not.

What I was thinking is - Trade in or sell the SRT4 and get the 6. OR wait 2 more years and sell it for a new Camaro Coupe.. (love this car)

Any advice is warmly welcomed.

Frank, if you feel the Viper seats are uncomfortable, you probably won't fit in the Crossfire seats either. I never had any complaints with taking my Viper on long trips, and I've spent more than 12 hours at one time in the Crossfire and got out feeling fine. But I have an 04 (not an SRT6) and some people feel the SRT6 rides too rough (probably as stiff as your Neon) so keep that in mind also.
If you really love your (Neon) then why not just save your money for the Camaro, because more than likely, even if you do find an SRT6, when the Camaro finally comes out, You'll probably just dump it for the Chevy.

It's not like I'm over weight and don't fit in the vipers seats... i'm 5'9" - 175lbs. . . the seats just hurt my lower back for some reason.

I have gone to the SRT track day 3 times now. . . Every time I have to say the 6 was the most fun car to drive..

thanks for you advice. . . Nice picture BTW. I'll get some of my 4 up.

I wasn't implying anything about your weight, it's just that some people fit, and some don't that's all.
Actually, You are just the "perfect" size for a Crossfire.
You just sound like somebody who seems to be sitting on top of the fence, and not knowing which way to go.
Since there is no way of knowing which way the value of the SRT6 is going to go, I think it might be a wise move to save your money for the Camaro.
You know it's going to go for big bucks when it comes out.

That's the thing too.. Not sure if i want another 30K + payment... I just bought a NITRO last year. Only owe 7k on the 4, that I can pay off this year...

Thanks for the chat btw.

so i'm guessing the fact that i'm 6'3" 265 wouldn't fall under the "perfect size" category for the crossfire... haha it was actually the reason i bought the base model...no heated/power seats equals more headroom...

franknbeans,

i've spent a bunch of time in the SRT4 bucket seats... and you are right... anything over about 4 or 5 hours and you start to feel uncomfortable (at least i do) in the SRT4... my base model '07 has bucket seats but they are much better IMO. not as deep of a recess from sides to back of seats.... i could spend and do spend hours in the crossfire at one time with no problems....

The cheapest upgrade in the end would be srt6 at today's pricing. The camaro will go for top dollar for a while. I'm larger than you and haven't had any problem with fitting but it does ride like a sports car.

that's what i was thinking... The SRT6 is such a nice car that sell for DIRT cheap prices.. I want to sell the 4 before it starts to go down in value.

Right now i know i can sell it for 15.5 with out a problem. I only owe around 8k on it. And I just sold my bike for 2,300, thus (ideally) leaving me around 10k cash to put down on one.

I'd say get it. I had an 06 Crossfire for about 5 months, drove a SRT-6 and immediately purchased it. I just loved the car. My brother is getting the Camaro though, I think there is some kind of waiting list already?? I could be wrong about that though.

Actually I'm 6'2" 215 lbs. and I fit in my 04, but I agree the Base cars do seem to have a little more head room. But wouldn't you agree, that these cars really are best suited for the "under" 6' crowd?

Beansnfranks, if money is an object, then by all means jump on the SRT6 band wagon. There is absolutely no better performance bargain out there.
You just sounded to me as though you were really going to be lusting after the new Camaro when it came out, and that's why I suggested to start saving for it now.
That 20k SRT6 you purchase now may not even be worth 1/2 as much as that new Camaro you'll be wanting in 2 or 3 years when they will actually be selling them for sticker.
Then again, maybe you will be so satisified with your SRT6, the new Camaro won't look so great after all.

Again Gentlemen, Thanks for all the advice...

I will be in lust over the Camaro, heck I am already, BUT there's no way I will pay above sticker for one, and I want the hard top... and it's not coming out until late 2009. So I won't be in one until 2010-2011.

I'm 5'9" 175, too. I have no complaints about the seat. The only problem may be the wall behind the seat. You won't be able to recline...much. The crossfire promotes proper driving posture.

Need to put the srt-4 up for sale now... Those are hard as hell to sell , being a "younger" buyer car and all.
