Default Bad storm, SRT is safe but my truck is dead

We were watching a movie during the storm when I heard my truck alarm going off. I thought somebody was trying to jack my ****, so I ran outside and saw the picture below..

The water came pretty close to the house, but thankfully the rain let off. The Srt was safe in the garage on the high side of the property but I am scared to see what the rest of the week holds since more rain is on the way. Might want to relocate her somewhere. Sadly I can't do the same with my house.

That really sucks, will your insurance cover your truck?

I got a hold of the insurance company and they are having a high volume of claims due to the freak storm last night, so it might be several days before the claims adjustor can make it. It dumped six inches of rain in two hours They said it is a good possiblity my truck will be totalled since the water was so high. It was immaculate, only 14k miles fully loaded single cab now it is full of sewage water and I'm sure the electrical system is ruined. If they do total it I will be fighting to get the maximum worth, because it was showroom clean. Also the rental car company doesn't have any cars to rent right now, because half of their fleet was destroyed as well. I'm covered for 30 days so hopefully I can get this all wrapped up and get my truck back or find something new.

The only positive to this is being that the economy is so bad, you can probably get a new truck after the insurance pays at a significant savings.

Having been flooded out in Baton Rouge, I agree.

Sorry the truck was damaged.

Sorry to hear about your truck, and the headache to come with the insurance company. I hope they treat you right or you can post your adjusters name and number and we call all call and give them heck.

I have USAA, they are military based and from my friends I have heard good things when it comes to claims. Hopefully it will be semi-painless, although I still don't have a rental car.

USAA is the best ins. company out there!, you'll not have any grief with them. I've had them since 1986. And they have handled the few claims I've had perfect.I hate to see your beautiful truck got beat up! Hopefully you can find something else just as nice.

yeah I have rental coverage, but half the rental cars were flooded as well and there is a waiting list because so many other people lost their vehicles as well.

Man, your just in a tough spot. Theres nothing they can really do about that. What you are dealing with is a natural disaster on a large scale so unfortunately their hands are tide. Just like MDSRT6 said, they are the best I ever had too. Your in good hands don't stress yourself.

USAA has been very good to me, also. As a very demanding customer, I have high standards, and USAA still impresses.

Man from the weather reports it doesn't look like yesterday wasn't any better for you. I seen tornado warnings on tv for your part of the country. Get the bike out before the srt. I hope all is well and works out.

Yeah we had some bad storms last night, but the worst of it just missed us. It was some really loud thunder and shook the whole house. I thought it was a tornado and jumped out of bed to see what was going on. My power got knocked out so my alarm never went off and I was an hour late to work.
I'd ride the bike, but I only ride in good weather. I got caught in two storms before and it sucked! I had my girl drop me off at work, and If I don't get a rental car by the end of today my boss is gonna let me take the company truck home.
