Default LOST SUPER CHARGER at 80 MPH ??

Last night rolling down highway at 60 I (as I so often do) put my foot through the floorboards to feel that incredable rush only to have the S/C shut off at 80mph. for the next mile or so no matter how I would floor it no S/C it was as if a sock was in my intake. A Kia Sephia would have out run me. Slowed do to about 10 mph and everything seened fine again. Took it into the city today held my breath, floored it, and, FULL ECCELERATION TO 120mph, KICK ME IN THE *** JOY AGAIN?
Well, any ideas out there?
Thanks guys, try to figure this one out
Mike

Maybe your IC pump is about to kick the bucket?

I hate to be rude, but this same question comes up about twice a week. It is the most common problem these cars have. Please do search next time. Hell, there are 3 threads on the first page of the SRT-6 section that discuss this in some way...

YOUR INTERCOOLER PUMP IS BAD! Buy a Johnson CM30 Pump for $135 and it will good to go.

Yep, the ol' IC pump is your issue. Mine did that exact same thing. It was a sporadic problem...Replaced the pump and all is golden.

Why does this happen?
Is the pump diredtly electronically conected to the s/c clutch where if it stumbles it won't let it kick in so to protect it from over heating?

When the pump fails the intake air temps rise so the intake air temp sensor tells the s/c not to engauge.

I don't think he was coming off being rude but it is a known fact that when you have a forum this size the same questions pop up all the time and the SEARCH function works wonders.

Can we have this link as a sticky please

When mine done this, long before I ever found you guys, the air-intake sensor went bad. I am not saying I will not have to replace the pump, which it sounds like I will, but my 1st problem was the sensor. Replaced under warranty, has ran fine since. With that said, maybe both should be looked at...I will buy a Johnson pump soon for a future install, just sounds like it performs better...Doc

Think what you will about me, I say it how it is. I just know for a fact that the forum regulars get really tired of teh same question coming up every 20th Thread. Here's what comes up when you search... There are at least 20 threads relating to this in the last 30 days. See what I mean? It gets old quick.

Bummer, I just glad you are taking care of the forum regulars and next time I will try to have something else break to help give someone some real excitement in their computer life...

Montanna,

Yep, that's what happens. Don't know why, how, or when. Just have it replaced if under warranty, if not, put in a Johnson pump. I have a new "warranty" pump installed but will soon replace it with a Johnson!!

This has to be up there as one of the more childish posts in a while.....and coming from someone in their 50's... Sir, I have to believe that being half your age, I might be more mature than you are.

In your case, did you find the answer you were looking for? If not make a new thread, no one is going to lash out unless there's 3-5 threads in the first 2 pages about brakes. However, the topic at hand in this thread has been covered more than enough in the past couple weeks. Do a few searches about the supercharger and you'll more than likely find that the pump is the issue without having to re-iterate what has already been said.

I believe after 500 posts you become a forum regular and after a 1000 posts you become a senior member.

Wow, I guess I'm the troll of the day... I'll try and keep the Keyboard Commando at bay... I don't understand why you people are taking this so personally. We are all grown people that would appear to be half way intelligent. I would think that common sense would do well to explain my irritated position.

If you don't find the answer you are looking for after searching, by all means post up. We'll all be happy to assist you with this. The problem here is that the topic of the original post have literally been covered about 25 times since the 1st of March. It just old when the same thing keeps getting asked by different people that don't do a logical search first.

I don't know what to tell you about the Brakes. I run Rotex Gold pads front an rear and they are great. If you are looking for something for ultimte performance like a Big Brake kit, Crossdrilled rotors etc. then I would refer you to member HDDP, he is the racing guru around here. There is also a section in the technical section of the forum that addresses Brakes and Suspension. You may find some answers there.

Here's what I got when I searched for SRT-6 Brake Upgrade: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...earchid=413769

You know, I am not even completely sure my supercharger is working. Is there any other notificatoin or way to tell if it's functional other than the "blistering, butt kicking, etc." power/acceleration?
