I used Kumho tires on my VW Jetta GT. They were surprisingly good for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on a Crossfire if I were on a budget.

For that difference $$ you can buy a set every 12-15k miles and get the best tread always on the road !

I think Bill can attest to the traction of these...I'll stick with the Pilots as they are cheaper in the long run.

My Aero came with the Kumho Ecsta's on the rear and they seem pretty good to me. They seem to grab well and I have had no issues in the wet weather in Oregon.
When it comes time to put new tires on it again, I am thinking about the Kumho's or the Yokohama Advan S.4.

I have them. I've put about 7,000 miles on them so far. I'd never recommend the the Pilot Sport 2 after having these. They stick just as well, they ride softer, they are quieter and you can beat the price. I highly recommend them to anyone. They are wearing very well too.

The only problem I have with them is they are VERY temp sensitive. If the temp is below about 55, they can be a little hard and don't bite as well. If the pavement is hot, they stick like glue. I picked up 2 tenths in my 60 Foot time at the track going from the PS2 to the Ecsta SPT. 2.1 before and 1.9 now. Same track. Buy them and thank me later. For what they cost the PS2s are garbage. The only other tire I like better is the Goodyear F1 GS-D3.

Maybe you didn't see the pictures of Bill's car at the Dragon. How many Crossfires can you buy with the savings? Anyway, I was just joking with huudoo who was there with us and is why I added the ... Didn't mean to get your panties in a wad.

I saw them, but I had no idea he was running those. I find the Ecsta SPTs hold better in the rain.

Very interesting tread pattern.....looks like it would trap more water in the tread than channel it out from under the tire. But, I am far from being an expert on tread design. Let us know how they are in the rain.

That's what I first thought when I saw them.
Did some research and was surprised.

remember the Dragon requires you to stay on the road. tires don't grip good airborne.

I had Kumho Ecsta SPT's on my Honda S2000 and they were my second favorite tire during the 70,000 miles I owned it. I also had Bridgestone Potenza S02's (the factory tire and my favorite, but they lasted about 5-8K miles in the rear), Sumitomo HTRZ II's, Yokohama AVS Sport's and Toyo Proxes T1-S's.

An S2000 is not a Crossfire, but it is a short wheelbase, rear wheel drive vehicle, with staggered width front and rear tires, of no too dissimilar weight when compared with one. I will probably give The Ecsta SPT's a try on my SRT6 when it is time (and that won't be too long).
