Honestly I think those modifications are horid at best, but yet again he can do with his car what he chooses... it does make me sad that the car is treated as if its not a low end german built exotic, but a family mini van...

If I was bothered by the arm rest I would modify the whole thing for a ridicolous amount of money and do the same on the other side because of my perfectionist dilusions... apparantly he is different and would rather spend less than 10$ for a solution and it is wrong to blame him for this...

To me it looks like spending hours to make an absolutely perfect cake and than slapping on some lard on top... to give you that extra taste and fulfill all your requirements? anything wrong with that? I guess not... would I do it? NO!!!

Post #12 says it all. I vote he be banned. He don't need someone like around here. I appologize for response in the above listed post. Ignorance, arrogance and judgements like that really p1ss me off quick. I felt it needed to be said.
Wow, someone is a bit unstable! That guy has some anger management issues. Yeah, I too think Waldigs lack of attention to detail needs some, well, attention, but it is his car and he is trying to create solutions to his problems, but yikes, that ttto guy is a bit over excited!

OK, OK it apparently it's not a joke! I still wonder if the guy even owns a Crossfire or is just trying to push our buttons? Either way, maybe we should take up a collection to help him pay for some mental help? Another thought is that we don't have to give him the satisfaction of responding to his posts! OK, I'm done responding!

I wouldn't do these mods to my car as I wipe mine with a diaper and stare at it in my garage.
I say live and let live. I do with mine what I want and I'll let you do what you want.

Thanks for your replies. It looks like I'm the bad guy here, and I must apologize... I had a long day yesterday and when I got home I was angry as hell, I went on the forum to see if anything new or interesting is out there, and I found Walding's posts.
I got really mad to see what he did to this car, but after all... it's his car and I took it too personal. I will have to personally apologize to Walding and even though I don't like his ways, IT'S HIS CAR...

p.s.
You guys wanted me off the forum??? Maybe I should install a flask in the drivers seat bottom cushion to keep me on here, and post a DIY for it

Well, that or a broomstick. (j/k)

But it's your car, after all. Feel free to modify it as you see fit.

He reminds me of some of the truck drivers I hire...they can do wonders w/ duct tape, bailing wire, coat hangers and foam....you just wouldn't believe it

What a wild post.

Waldig, please continue taking the time to share your solutions. They're appreciated.

I haven't been on a race track for years, but this brings me back. When performance is paramount, often aesthetic compromises are made.

Make it faster by ripping the carpet and seats out?
Strap a fire extenguisher to the floorboard?
Wrap the cage in foam so you don't smack your helmet constantly?

I've seen these, and many other things done to beautiful automobiles.

I don't drive mine on the track (can't afford to ball her up), and prefer to not alter the aesthetics (no stickers, badges, etc.), but I sure as hell won't berate another owner for making his work more effectively.

I'll be very disappointed if posts like this discourage members willing to post their ideas.

My daily driver is a PT Cruiser Turbo - you should see what PT owners do to their cars!! waldig has nothing on those guys!!! While I would certainly take issue with him doing some of his mods to MY car, what he does to his own is his business. I see all kinds of things I don't like on all kinds of cars. So I simply choose not to do them to mine. Beyond that, I've got much more important things to worry about in life than how someone else is modding their car.

banning people just because they have a differing opinion is a chickenshit move.

banning people just because they aren't very eloquent in expressing their differing opinion is a chickenshit move.

if one is not able to read "your idea sucks" without getting upset, then maybe they should be the ones not participating on a forum. it goes both ways...
