Great job Jonny! From what I can see, they are going to look pretty sweet! My biggest thing with these(and im sure others will agree) is that these look like they belong there. Almost stock looking.

its coming right along!
I messed with it that is the distance they need to be to see all three, I could put them closer together but you might have to move your head to see all three at the same time...... Unless we wanted to throw the whole diagonal configuration out, I would be totally up for that but I don't know if it would look as good. Also The reason I have it so high is I want them to hug the window rather then be right in your face. I had them on the outside edge and it was like right in your face I hated it. I will take more pictures of the finished mold tonight I am sure you will like it. If not we can work something out with the group....I do not want you guys paying for something you dont like, I would rather fix the product till everyone is happy or just refund your money and bite the cost. So everyone be compelely open and honest so we can make this work...

As long as all gauges can be seen at "normal" eye level and driving position, I'm good with the design.

Jonny, the fact you understand what i meant and you played with the design already makes me think you are going to do whatever looks best visually and makes the most sense functionally. I just didnt know if the highest gauge up would make our eyes wander too far from the road or if its too close to our face it would take too long for the eyes to focus. Since im running a/f gauges i will be monitoring them constantly.

I agree - it does look bulky, but its not done. I will hold my tong until the design is finished.

I would like it to be just an accent piece - not big and chunky. The car itself is small and I would hate to see the gauges overwhelm the overall design.

Is 3 too many????

As im looking at that last picture again im wondering if the gauge pods are sticking out too far? It looks as if you could hack off 1-1.5" on each one to bring them closer to the pillar...unless that would not allow them to be deep enough to hold the gauge.

sorry guys the pictures before were just for an idea those were the outside molds of what was really being used. YES the gauges are about 1.5 inch way to far they were kinda misleading they were just for an idea. I am hesitant to post these next pictures but this is more then likely minus all the sanding, paint and bondo work what they are going to look like. The pillar itself is only one layer of woven fiberglass so about a 16th of an inch on the pillar itself. The pod string (not deadliest catch) themselves sit about 1/4 of an inch higher on the pillar. This is what the finish product would look like GRANTED THIS IS AS ROUGH AS IT GETS. This weekend I am going to do the sanding and possible cover it in same fabric as my headliner. I am going to do both pillars I think this is the way to go. LESS hassle with perfect lines for paint. This option also gets rid of the triple pillar being sanded smooth and the stock pillar textured. I forgot to mention this option might also be available for everyone.

I am posting these pics for you guys to get a better idea of the finished product, this set up is what works, literally I have 10 molds of this now, I have been through tons of trial and error, this is the only set up that works for the tripple, and for them all to be seen. THis is how the finished product would look just actually finished. I personally think it looks really good the pictures do not do it justice, but if you are seeing them and picturing even the idea of this set up, thinking NO this is not what I want, Then we need to take this in another direction ???

ohh and if your wondering why the last pod looks like that, It has too I tried doing it just flat does not fit, it is either this or cut it off and have the back look chooped off, looked bad IMO, this looks really good the pictures dont not, I am just doing this so people can have a grasp of what this is pretty much it.

I really appreciate all the work man… it shows you are dedicated to make a quality product.

My only comment is in the pictures, the 3rd gauge (closest to the driver) seems to be a little “of kilt” compared to the angles of the other 2. Is this just a distortion made by the camera?

I will pose this thought again – if 3 makes it too cramped and is unable to look GREAT (OEM), should we go to just 2 gauges??

Thanks again for the hard work man... if I could mail you a 6 pack, I would.

lol Leinenkugels lol I can kick the idea of two around, it may look better, But then would we want two high or two low, two side by side, to custom wrapped in or two or just pods, when you go down to two the options are endless... I think it is just the camera, its really hard to tell with the rough fiberglass this weekend it will be bondod up and we will all have a better idea. I see what you are saying in the picture its the light hitting the tin foil inside the mold, the pillar is actually curved on the inside they all follow a strict line on the actual pillar so its really not possible for it to be off. Unless of coarse the fiberglass warped the fiberglass mold under it which is possible but Im sure that inst what happened that had the most dry time....

Once again way to stay on top this product Jonny!

Going with less than 3 gauge pods is NOT and option for me, i have 3 gauges i deem very necessary.

This is looking really good just what i had in mind, the only thing is the pod highest up looks like it isnt sitting parallel with the others. I know i am reiterating what has already been stated, but this is the only, and most important hang-up i see. Over come this and we are good to go.

Im good at envisioning the final product from these pics. If the highest pod is left that way the lower 2 gauges will be facing the driver but the top one will be facing more toward the passenger. The gauge angle is determined by the angle of the pod face. I know you know this im just thinking aloud.
