Just got my SRT6 and problems already at 110 miles...Help
Got my Srt6 today off the truck and right off the bat the dam front drivers side brake and rotor are making a metal on meatal sound...The car has 110 Original miles on it, any ideas what the sound might be?... Also when I push down on the right fender the same creaking sound is coming from the same front driver side wheel...
P.S. How the hell do you program the garage door opener?
Thanks

The sound coming from the breaks is pads or rotars which both will probably need to be changed among some other things.. other than that how does the car drive?
As for programing the garage door opener it is in the manual but if I recall you have to hold the right and left button simoultaneously while the key is in the on position till the light starts flashing, then hold the garage door remote next to the homelink and press hold the button on the garage opener and the button you want to serve as the garage opeaner in the homelink unit till the homelink unit starts flashing..

Man, I would have it thoroughly checked out for sure by a Mercedes mechanic. Did you get a warranty? How did you find out it was a track experience car? 110 miles? I thought they kept those for 3000 miles or so. This is one reason I'm glad my car had 10k on it when I bought it with a history of a normal driver, well more normal than an SRT car.
The brake noise could be from rust after the long haul. If it doesn't quickly go away, it's probably the tattle tales in the pads meaning that you need new brake pads.
Just remember that these cars were built for hard driving. It may have had a rough beginning, but it should be fine for a while.

My brakes sound like that everytime the car sits in rains for a few days, always front brake noise. The noise goes away after a few miles. I would take it in for a brake inspection to be certain. The dealership will do it for free. Good Luck.
Re: Just got my SRT6 and problems already at 110 miles...Help
The inservice date was feb of 08 so I got the full 3 year 36 thousand mile warranty...Hopefully the beating on the car for 50 miles did not do any lasting damage...The car looks Brand new all the way around so im happy about that!!!

110 miles can't possible be that bad...
Don't them scare you. I've been to the track experience twice and if it only has 110 miles on it, it wasn't used much. Both times I went, I'm sure I put atleast 15 track miles on them each day. Given that they run many session per day, I would say that car had "maybe" 2 days worth of Track duty on it. That is nothing to worry about. Mine is coming up on 25,000 miles on it and I have been known to BEAT on it regularly and have had NO problems at all. It sees the Dragway at least once a month, usually twice and It's been to Summit Point and VIR several times for track days... I haven't even killed the brakes yet. I'm on my second set of tires though. What you are hearing is more than likely from LACK of use. It can only be a couple of things making that noise. Shouldn't be hard to fix. All Chrysler's have a 12 Month/12,000 mile "adjustment" warranty on wear and tear items, so it shouldn't cost you anything either.

Don't forget, this car has sat for about 3 years with only 110 miles. It's more than likely just a bunch of rust on the rotors. Drive it easy for a bit to wear off that rust and don't gouge into those rotors. Then get yourself some Rotex Gold pads. Also don't be surprised if those tires don't wear a flat spot very quickly, or have a problem staying balanced.
Re: Just got my SRT6 and problems already at 110 miles...Help
1st of all, I really don't like title of your post. I'm having problems already! Second, If you bought a track car without even checking the vin for the cars history, big mistake and your to blame! You could have at least asked the selling dealer the cars history, they can also check the vin and cars history. Lastly, probably the squeeking is just rust that forms on the rotors since the cars been sitting around for the last 3 years. Just drive the car and it should go away! Also the sound that you hear when u push down the fender, is just the suspension bushings, which is normal! just drive the car and change the oil, it should last for a long time!

You should hear my friend's SRT4 with the racing compound pads. It sounds like a school bus when he stops.
...and that brings me to my threory. An SRT experience race car MIGHT have racing pads on it.
Re: Just got my SRT6 and problems already at 110 miles...Help
As mentioned above, check to see if the pads are trully factory stock or if they were replaced with a more aggresive (metallic) compound. If they are stock they could have been glazed over and the brakes may need to be turned, scuffed up (cheap fix), or replaced.
I wouldnt worry one bit about the car being involved in a track experience. Its nothing the car wasnt designed to do. With the exception of if the car was driven off track and something was truly damaged.

It's makes the sound when im driving down the road, not when I'm appling the brakes...taking it into the dealership on wednesday to have the rotors turned and new brake pads put on...I'm sorry if I came across in a pissed off way, but you have to remember that I got the car and within 5 minutes had to park it because of the brake, rotor problems...
