OK, since it's cheap, how about I offer $100.00?

The car is far from cheap and very, very sexy!!!!!! I have had at least 4 of my neighbors come over and tell me what a nice looking Mercedes Benz..................Very funny indeeed!!!!!

I was just so bummed they other day about only being able to look at the car and not drive it!!!!!!

I bought the car without test driving it because Car Fax and AutoCheck both told me the miles were right.

mmmm, I reallly kinda dought it. I've tracked mine many times and drag it too and I'm still on the original rotors after 25,000 miles...

I think there is something else going on here.

100 miles = still a new car. I see no reason to test drive it either if it wasn't close by. He had the car shipped, it's possible it is something that could have been damaged in shipping as well. Why don't we concentrate on helping him instead of berated him and otherwise giving him a hard time. These forums sure have gotten hostile in the last couple of months. Hopefully everyone just has cabin fever and will go back to being nice in the spring...

Thanks for the support but I had it coming to me for my introduction on the boards about 2 months ago............I was a complete "Moron" with the things I said!!!!!! I am falling in love with this car very fast and in a big way, Now if i can just get it to the point so I can drive it down the road without sounding like a tin can on wheels.

cut the resonator and keep the car in 2nd while cruising, nobody will hear nothing but the song of your exhaust... and if the brake noise still persists... turn the volume up...

You can easily smoke a set of rotors in 100 miles. It would only take several HARD stops in a row from high speed to do so. Give it a try. Another possiblity for warped rotors would be dragging brakes from seized caliper pins. Or its a conspiracy

I never said it wasn't a possibility. I was just saying that these brake are HUGE and have plenty of cooling. It's not all that likely that they are warped from hot lapping. Like I said, I've done multiple track days were speeds exceeded 125 MPH in the straights and required HEAVY braking into the turns. They have faded on me a little bit, but never warped. I'm thinking it's more likely something going on with the caliper. The number one sign of a warped rotor isn't a metallic noise, it's pedal vibration.

I was about a week away from purchasing a 2005 SRT6 with 7,000 miles on it. But after hearing all the Supercharger and IC problems this car has I guess I will be looking at used Corvettes...Very dissappionted that the car is such a piece of crap in the engine department because I really love the way the car looks...

Valk:
You have been through a lot here for sure. Best of luck working through the issues with the SRT6.

True, could be many different things. The car sat for at least two years, was used in the SRT experience in some manner, and who knows what else. Maybe it was a 0-150-0 car.
