Am I the only one that caught this? 317WHP with a 185 mm Pulley and supporting mods and Tune? What's up with that? Stock cars are putting down ~290WHP. Does that type of dyno read REALLY low? I would expect 360ish WHP from that setup.

I'm QUITE confident that 400WHP is possible without the bottle. By my conservative estimate a 185mm Pulley, Custom ECU Tune, Rear Cats and Resonator Removed, NeedsWings Intake, LET HE and Pump, Isolated Intercooler tank, Thermostat, Plugs, Wires, Meth Injection should easily do it. I'm thinking 410-420 on that setup.

You thought the same in this thread: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...t=21599&page=2

Brian's numbers are low because it was a Dyno Dynamics. I guess they dyno low. This was all discussed in the thread I linked to.

Sorry, my memory is less than steller... I completely forgot about that discussion.

Nope - as I said before - if you look at Chi-Towns results on a Mustang Dyno with the Needswings Intake and the ASP pulley - I think it was only 298WHP. Not sure if a Mustang Dyno reads low or High but I would think Low considering his 1/4 mile times.

Go to this website http://www.to4r.com/calcs/pwtq.php
and punch in 317HP and 5200RPM and click calc

You can see the comparisons for a Dyno Jet and for Calculated Crank HP.

I'll take (434-330=104) 104 Crank HP gain for with just a pulley, tune, iridium plugs and a SL55 intake....(under $2K list - and I paid even less..) and 373WHP for a Dyno-Jet Dyno.

Diffrent dynos, different conditions. To bad this website does not list all the dynos.

can we stop talking HP and start seeing some 1/4 mile numbers... dyno numbers will always vary by 20-50 hp with the same car same place same day different dyno... that is a lot... not to mention we will always have crank HP and wheel HP and there is no actual way to know the exact drivetrain loss in %...

Can't wait to see it on PINKS. If you're a good negotiator, you could end up taking home a '78 Fairmont that someone stuffed a big block crate motor into.

Actually one of the guys who is a technical advisor on PINKS helped me with my tuning! I'm lucky enough to be one hour from his shop! And yes I have asked about getting on a PINKS episode!

That's a good link. I can only speak of Dyno Jet numbers. That's the only Dyno near me. Mine made 288 WHP with K&Ns when stock. That was reading SAE, Smoothing 5. It's common knowledge that NeedsWings Intake put out WHP in the 320s on a Dyno Jet. Granted, it would seem that a Dyno Jet reads Higher, but most tuners seem to believe in them over Mustang and Dynapacks.

Given that experience, I would guess mine should be putting out around 330-335 on a Dyno Jet at this point.

If you do the math, there is NO way CHI-TOWN is outting down 298. Horse Power Calculators that take into account vehicle weight, ET, MPH, 60 Foot etc. Put CHI's car in the 370-380 WHP range. At 20% drivetrain loss a Stock one should put down 280. Therefore, it's my belief that Pulleys, ECU and Intake will put down ALOT more than 298. Personally, I think MD's car should put down a little more on a Dyno Jet.

Based on a Dyno Jet Dyno, I still think 400+WHP without the bottle isn't too far fetched.

I will post pics and dyno sheets soon, I don't have my car right now. It is getting a drive shaft loop and a few other things installed to make it nhra/ihra approved right now. I'm going on vacation sat, so hopefully I'll get it back in time to post everything before I go but if not it will be about ten days or so.

Better have the roll bar set up otherwise the track will through you out when you get under 11.5, and you should be under that.

I am not having a rollbar put in YET. If It runs that fast I'll have to consider, but at this point I am setting it up with safety equip. to meet mod et class 11.99 and under but slower than 11.50. But we shall see! I will be running it in about two weeks! I'll keep ya posted.

If you can give us advance notice of the day, time, and place (Budd's Creek?) you're going to make the runs, a few of us may want to take a drive down and cheer you on. Let us know!

Here are a few pics and dyno graphs of my car, I'll try to get better ones soon, these are off my phone! Note: the rwhp with juice is 429hp and 449tq. That's because the guy who did my dyno( ELD Performance in Millersville, Md) Printer wasn't the best and these two are the best ones he could print, but max hp was 436 and tq was 452. Anyway the track is what matters right, hopefully I'll get to find out on 3-29-08 thats when our track opens.
