Default What are your thoughts on this?

I am in the process of getting my Needswings installation put together and wanted to improve the look. The intake pipe is painted to match the air boxes and the letters are polished to match the SRT logo.

Does this work for anyone else? I wanted to complement the engine compartment and add a little flair at the same time, comments are appreciated, Waldig.

I'm not sure i understand what your saying. With the needswing intake the stock boxes will not be present.

Wow, very cool. I guess I'm gonna have to copy you on the "blackcent" painting on my intake and manifolds. Once I get some cashflow I'm gonna do some black details all over the car. Should look nice on the aero blue.

One of the main problems with these CAIs is the fact that it looks like something is missing (yeah, the air boxes). What are you using in place of the air boxes. What is the silver plastic stuff?

CGOCIFER; You are the winner, I discussed the intake but wanted to really see if anyone would note the fillers for the air filters. You did. I could not accept the empty space and wanted to mock up some plates, note the little tiny red spots under them, they are some drill batteries spacing up a plastic sheet to mock up the plates so I could begin to fabricate the fillers. There are many ways to anchor them and I am in the process of working thru each approach, using factory bolts and fasteners as possible.

The goal for these plates is a factory grade appearance, light weight, ease of removal and installation for service. Ill update this as I get something that I can accept. The air pipe and intake air boxes are painted textured black only on the upper surface for appearance and to minimize radiant heat gain from the engine. More to follow, Waldig

Looks interesting, and exactly what I was considering trying if I got the NW intake.

BTW, the flat black photoshop work DOES look sweet!

The photo images are real, there is no photoshop. This is a shot of the installation so far, Iam waiting for the intake gaskets before bolting everything in place. Ill ship out another view, Waldig.

Pics look terrible with the flash, Throw the hood up to the second level and take some in the sun minus the flash..... I painted my engine cover flat black on my limited looked amazing I think the flat black would complement the shiny black and and polished look you have going. Looks good Get some good pics up so it does it some justice,,

Wow. If someone would make these, I would buy.

<EDITED> And, now that I see the pics, I'm definitely going to paint my intake black. Bravo on offering an example that provides performance and the factory aesthetics.

Question Re: What are your thoughts on this?

What kind of paint did you use? Anything special?
