Speeding Problems Take care of me!!
Speeding Problems
Alright fixing up the post, yea they got to me, was pulled over yesterday doing 60 in a 25 zone, that is 35 mph over limit, have never been ticketed at such an increased speed, court is mandatory, I don't even know what the proceedings are going to be like likley if plead guilty 5 points, but if anyone has any expereince with an increase over limit this high input would be appreciated.. Hm.. Looks like safe driving school at minimum... Something that annoys me is you don't even know what kind of fees and charges you will be facing because it is so varies.. and the highest posted speed on the back of a New Jersey ticket is 24 mph over speed limit
It happened in Englewood, New Jersey

So if you were ticketed in Mass doing 60 in a 25 mph zone, your fine would be $350 payable by mail within 20 days, or you can request a hearing before a Clerk Magistrate. Usually the Clerks will reduce the fine if you're honest about what you did and promise to be more careful in the future. As always, having a bad driving record won't help to reduce your fine. We won't even talk about the insurance surcharges you are subjected to. You can buy a lot of premium gas for $350.

PS. thanks for the compliment blue

60 in a 25 mph zone? Personally, I think they should revoke driving privileges from folks who exceed the speed limits by those those types of figures. There's a reason for posted speed limits...like them or not.

Well Xfire Frank, maybe there is some sense to what you are saying, but don't you think you are a little quick to judge? Take into account that there was no one else on the road and it was steep downhill, simply not applying braking would you get past speed limit there... and you are right in saying there is a reason in posted speed limits, the state needs make money and feed the cops somehow and what better way to do this than to criminalize ordinary people?

I got it now!! You got plastered afterwards! Good therapy sometimes.
Well at least it's not a DWI charge. Perhaps you can plead down, Stand up straight in front of the Judge, accept responsibility and take the lesser charge. Claim the down hill situation, find out how steep the grade was etc...
Hope you get to keep you license.
I just beat speeding ticket #1 - - I was doing...ah you don't need to hear that crap right now...
Good luck
Re: Speeding Problems Take care of me!!
getting a lawyer sounds like the best idea, it's a little of a gamble with your money but if the ticket gets dropped or even reduced because of his help it'll save you a boatload on the insurance. I know in my state 35 over is considered reckless driving and it's a 6 point violation.
I got pulled over in North carolina a few years ago going around 115 in a 65, that sounds bad but this road is straight for 50 miles. anyway North Carolina told me I couldn't drive in their state for one year. ($450 fine) somewhere around $3500 on the insurance
anyway good luck at court

Dude, that initial post was hilarious!!!!! "This is SIDEZ, HaHaa!.." lol lol lol!!! Don't you just hate it when you want to edit something stupid, but somebody already posts a quote that you can't change?
Man, at least you weren't in Virginia!! Your car would have been impounded and you would have lost your license for at least a year. There may have even been some jail time!! Well, at least you weren't hammered when you got pulled over!

Re: Speeding Problems Take care of me!!
I agree with Frank on this one. 60 in a 25 is just ridiculous people. Hell, it's 25 in my neighborhood! Imagine some idiot driving down your block at 60 with your kids outside. Wouldn't be so funny then. But, maybe I'm different. I hope it's all a joke or maybe even an bit from a screenplay from an upcoming jackass movie.

Maybe I am wrong, but in the old country we don't have speedometers..
