Will this pump work on the SRT6 if my original IC pump ever goes out?

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure I've read that the Lightning pump is the same as ours. so yes it will work.

They all look very familiar, like a different label and a different hose cover.

Hmm.. It would be interesting to put them to the GPM Test.

See page 17 part callout #1.

Bet there all the same - just some price discrimination going on.

uhhhh, I thought it was common knowledge that the Ford Lightning Pump will work on our cars. They are both the exact same GPM Bosch Pump. The only difference is the electrical plug(cut off and splice in Chrysler one off original pump) The hose oulet is a different size, but you just unscrew the original one off your old pump and put it on the new "FORD" one. All in all it takes about 45 minutes, including jacking the car and removing the wheel.

This has been covered at length several times before.

I haven't really looked closely at the stock pump connections. Instead of splicing into the car's wiring harness, does the old pump have a connector that can be removed and spliced into the Ford pump?

^^^ I think that is what he meant in his instructions inside parenthesis.....splice the connector from the bad pump into the Ford pump.

That's what I thought, but I read the instructions posted by the MB forum guy who said he cut the plug off of the wires coming from the car to the pump. I'll have to take a look-see once the temps get above 10 degrees!

I already consulted my personal mechanic about it but he doesn't even know if that will surely fit in my car. Geez.

If I were in the same situation, I would forego the beers and buy the Johnson pump, which BTW has "thrice" the capacity of the Bosch/Fraud pumps

Hey which model/voltage of the johnson pump should I buy? annddd is it better to just say screw the dealer who would prob install the exact same pump under warranty I have? Or go ahead get the dealership to replace the pump (no cost to me) and wait for it to prob go out again? thoughts lol?

It works I have it on my car. It's a very easy swap, once your pm sees the factory pump and location it should be a no brainer. Unless you live in a hotter climate than me in AZ 110 degrees plus or adding cooling mods your wasting money on the johnson. These have lasted 5k or 50k miles just depends how long your car sat before it was sold.

if you look inside the old bosch pump when its replaced you will see burnt windings. this is the cause of the failure. it doesnt matter how long the car has sat. it isnt a matter of will the bosch pump its WHEN the pump will fail. a cm30 pump is 149$ shipped from apeusa.com and takes about 20 min to install. remove the old plug from the bosch pump and solder it to the cm30. drill 1 hole in the original mount position and use the cm30 clamp to install. fill and your done. now you dont have to worry about when your pump fails. add a larger h/e and watch your iat's drop like a rock!
