The repair estiments are in from my turnpike adventure. I went to two shops, one from a dealership I trust from past business, and one from a recomendation from a friend who has used them. The dealership was $2,000 and the recomended shop $1,700.
The difference is the shop will repair the bumper and the dealership says replace. Other than that it's pretty much the same. A replacement wheel is $550 and that aided in jacking up the price. Since I purchased the wheels from fourm member Cissy and spent much less than that, I'm gonna give the kid a brake (only fair). It's scarry though that it can add up that fast in cost!
Morale of the story... Don't come into contact with anything but air and the occassional rainstorm when driving.
