Default Bad Gas

I wonder how many of us that bought pre-owned Xfires, especially the ones that were company cars had low octane gas run in our cars for 10k or more miles?! I'll bet ya most of the company cars had this issue, because the drivers mostlikely didn't want to spend extra cash on gas for their company car that they didn't own. Yikes!! I'm a bit worried about possible damage lurking beneath the hood!!

I can sympathize with your concern. On the other hand, if they were company cars, in which case a company was paying for the gas, I figure most of the drivers had no concern for the cost of a tank of gas. Therefore, I am comfortable with my company car that had 19K on it when I bought it. Thinking further, you could also assume that they had absolutely no concern for a car they did not own. In any case, I don't care, I love my car.

True, that's why I spent a considerable amount of time inspecting the vehicle for mistreatment. Other than some very light swirls and scratches from brush washes, the car was in near-new condition. I also insisted the dealer throw in the 8/80 warranty!

I love it to, but man, I wish I had known that "new" ones were still around.

I don't think they payed for the gas themselves and if they did.. the difference between 91 and 87 is ******* change, I know I would never do that... but if it is true and they did do this and you have not noticed much problems as of yet.. I wouldn't worry too much, maybe check what the spark plugs look like?

Ah yes, the old spark plug read! That is one of the oldest, and still pertinent, diagnostic tools of the trade!!
