Default srt6 exhaust

finally got our header flanges back from the waterjetter and they came out fantastic, i had a nice 304 ss muffler picked out but im seeing similar looking ones on ebay for next to nothing and didnt want anyone to think there getting a $30 ebay special muffler so ill probably pic out another so there wont be confusion down the road. btw, ours is not an ebay muffler but im guessing the ebay ones were copied off this setup. well let me know what you guys think of the style of it, the system will have a small resonator aswell since the new muffler will undoubtably be louder then stock and i think we will need a resonator to keep the tone in check (ill probaly make it removable with a swappable strraight pipe).

give me some wish lists here from the start please, so far we should end up with 1.75" primaries, to a 2.25 or 2.50" collectors, merging both banks into a 3" all the way back, we can set it up from the get go with quick change cats/cutouts/straight pipes by just adding properly placed dissasembly flanges.

What am I seeing here Rob?

I see a 2-in-to-one merge collector (I already have one one those)

Is the last piece the exhaust tips after splitting the single back into two pipes?

Where is the header set and the resonator? I am big time ready for some headers.

Any prices??

The last two pipes are the muffler(s) with a 2>1 3" collector ahead of it.

Looks good rob, but I'm anxious to see your header designs.

The removable cats and resonator would be cool as long as they weren't a big PAIN in the **** to get to and remove. Otherwise you may as well make them permanent.

Are your headers going to be LT's or shorties? Unequal length I presume?

I may sound like a whiner, but I think clean stock exhaust tips look very sharp on our cars.

My 2cents worth: configure a system where we can re-use the factory tips to make it look stock if we want to.

It will be interesting to see the price and hear them. I looked at these mufflers with the stock tips on the end when I was considering going with dual pipes.
http://www.burnsstainless.com/cgi-bi...=SM-250-350-12

But $470 for a set of mufflers + $115 for the two SS pipes + labor = $$WOW$$

Plus I figured it would be loud as hell all the time and that was not what I was looking for. I didn't look to see if Borla or Flowmaster had to offer. (what about the "Cherry Bombs" I see at the auto parts store...)

I hope Rob (or someone) installs this setup so we can hear it..

Are these going to be true headers or log style headers? What are we thinking for price ?

loud is good... the louder the better.. its a sports car.. besides most people on here don't daily drive them and have something else to lean on.. let it be true performance.. and true performance=loud, but i too don't like the exhaust tips..

wow, i looked around burn's website and they looj way expensve IMO, we deal with http://www.woolfaircraft.com/index.php for all our tubing and mandrel bending, our srt6 intake pipe was in thier SEMA display

the header i have in mind are short E.L. tubular to a larger flange setup (stock downpipes wont bolt to it or we would be wasting our time with the header). i think going long tubes would move us back too far for a cat to be effective (if you guys want to run cats?).

DO it Do it Do it!!! **** the cats.. if we really need them we would install some racing cats later further in the setup.. well as long it does not cause the check engine light, but I am sure you have a method to remedy that issue as well.. this will prolly be the key to making the most power..?

It all comes down to performance for me. If these can make my car faster and get me closer to that 11.9 sec 1/4 mile I'm all for it. If it just makes the car louder I will pass, I think my car sounds fine (especially now with NeedsWings Intake ) and I still haven't removed the resonator, yet.

You can use spark plug non-foulers to move the O2 sensor out of the direct stream of exhaust flow and that usually will stop any check engine lights. It is a cheap/easy fix, runs about $5.00 for 2 non-foulers. I can post up pics if your interested. I use them on my car and it works great.

As long as it is bolt-on and produces more power, I'd be happy. Personally I do not want to cut anything on mine. Seems like there would be a good place for a bolt-on right after the cats and before the AMG resonator.

As far as the tips go, I always thought the SRT6 should have had different tips like the Porsche Boxster and Boxster S.

Electronical cutout option please. Then you can build the rest of the exhaust for looks/sound/ and emissions.

In all honesty weather we sell more or NW sells more, I think the community will benefit the most from this. It's taken 4 years for anyone to actually show interest in these cars, and things are about to start happening real fast.

i wont require you guys to cut/damage/modify any of the current setup. i believe in direct replacements so you can keep the factory stuff in the basement closet incase you ever need to go back to stock for any reason.

Could you elaborate on this topic / show pics? I am not much of a car mechanic wizz and could use some education. Thanks

Dennis
