Default InMotion ECU tune

As part of the mods for my SRT6 I am planning on getting the InMotion ECU tune. I would like to get some feedback from you guys that have used InMotion. Are you happy with it? Any issues? I would like the good, the bad, the ugly or the beautiful. All input is greatly appreciated. You can PM your comments if you prefer.

Well, I'll be happy to give you an unbiased review as soon as I figure out how to get it done. I bought it today, now I just have to figure out what I'm going to drive for 3 days while I send in the ECU. I was going to do the "Flash it yourself" method, but it would take 2-3 weeks for "my turn" with the OBD Tool to come up.

I will say this, InMotions communication is outstanding. They are easy to get on the phone and reply to emails very quickly. Based on that, I would have to say their customer service is very good.

What I dont get is that after ChiTown got his ecu tuned (following asp pulley and Needswings intake) he only saw his 1/4 mile time go down by 1 to 2 tenths of a second. On their site they claim a gain of 35hp, from 330 to 365. I would excpect more time taken off than that, ecpecially with the pulleys and intake taken into account with the tune. But, apparently the word now, is that our cars are actually rated at 349hp. If this is true then maybe Inmotion just listed the manufacturers rating and then dynoed a tuned car at 365, which would mean an actual gain of just 16hp. Right?

Edit: He Ran a 12.3 before tune and 12.2 after tune.https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...build+fast+car

Do a search for bikecop post (my son) he gained about 4/10 in 1/4 mile. Times are on drag times. No pulley mod.

I was and still am very happy with InMotion Tuning. The turn around was very fast (48hrs). As for the gains, with K&N's and no res, I ran 12.8 at 108. Custom tune and homemade cold air kit 12.4 at 111. Regardless of my altitude (as another member mentioned) I gained 4/10ths. It took me several attempts to get my 12.4 do to traction problems. As to Chi/Town (Abe) he ran a 12.2 at 113 as his fastest time on dragtimes. I think that is a pretty good gain considering the traction problems he also must be having.

For the money and service I feel InMotion Tuning is the best buy. IMO

HEY Mike, I have to say I have not had the SRT6 tuned by them but they did my 2004 Limited and I was not happy the first time but they were willing to do it untill I liked everything about it.
They were great to work with and I have to say They back their statements of performance. This company deserves an A+ for their customer service. In all reality, up to five hundred dollars for about 15 minutes on a PC? I AM IN THE WRONG BUSINESS!
Go ahead and send it you will not regret it!

Be sure to let everyone know how it goes. Thanks ahead of time. I would to ship mine off as soon as I can find the willpower to part from my car.

Did you get it? I'm about to order, just wondering what your impressions are.

I havent done mine yet. I just got the SL55 intake system last Thursday and waiting for the LET pulley kit. I am traveling until the 20th so I should have the pulley when I get back and be able to put the pullehy and intake on and then send the ECU in.

I dont have to go through withdrawls of having my car down. I have TWO!

I got mine back and installed today...

I had a little trouble with the USPS, but that was NOT Inmotions fault. Basically, it was a frustrating experience with USPS Express mail...

I pulled the ECU out Monday night and sent it out Express Mail on Tuesday and INMotion got before noon on Wednesday as advertised(Virginia to Oregon). He sent it back out to me on Wednesday afternoon. The problem was getting it back. It took 54 hours to get it BACK . This caused me PROBLEMS... With express mail, you have to sign for the delivery. So, I sat around the house ALL day Thursday waiting for it not to show up. Now that was my only day off and I got NOTHING done aside from watching Oprah. I was pissed to say the least. It finally showed up on Friday afternoon around 2PM. That caused me to call out of work today. So waiting for it to come back probably cost me MORE than the $320 purchase price in lost time and wages...

Be warned, the USPS is NOT reliable.

I put it in and the car started and has run all day with no issues....

I have not been able to fully evaluate it yet, as it has been POURING all day. Seems like everytime I put a mod on the car it rains for 2 days afterwards, so I can't "drive" the car... I did punch it on the Interstate at around 65MPH in the rain and it was a BIG noticable difference. The big indicator was the car getting loose at 65!

I'll post a full review once it dries out...

As stated before, INMotion's Customer Service is FANTASTIC! The USPS is not...

Nice to hear you got it. I feel your pain on USPS. The sad thing is I am working for them temporary right now and I too have been screwed. I was expecting my ECU in the mail tonight but nothing was there when I got home. I typed the # in to make sure Inmotion got it thursday and this is what it came up with

Notice Left, March 07, 2008, 8:04 am, PORTLAND, OR 97268
Arrival at Unit, March 07, 2008, 7:58 am, PORTLAND, OR 97267 Processed, March 07, 2008, 6:04 am, PORTLAND, OR 97238 Processed, March 06, 2008, 8:44 am, BUFFALO, NY 14240 Missent, March 06, 2008, 8:43 am
Processed, March 06, 2008, 8:17 am, BUFFALO, NY 14240 Processed, March 05, 2008, 6:00 pm, ZIP Code 71100 Processed, March 05, 2008, 5:14 pm, SHREVEPORT, LA 71130 Acceptance, March 05, 2008, 1:47 pm, BOSSIER CITY, LA 71112

They sent it to the wrong place and it never got there on thursday. Express mail is a big deal at the post office because if it's not delivered by noon the customer gets a refund. Me being temporary and screwing up an express delivery would =termination. I am going to talk to my manager in the morning about it to see if I should file a complaint. I was so pissed when I found out about this. Now my car is down until next week and they ruined my weekend fun. BTW I hate working for them, city carrier in the worst part of town, it sucks. Thankfully it's just temporary.

Yeah, the excuse I got was that I live in a Rural Zipcode I was like WTF!?!?! I live in one of the largest metropolitan areas in Virginia. I didn't have any problem getting it the west coast overnight from my zipcode. If they consider my zipode rural, it must take them a week to get an express package to someone in the sticks... I've gotten items from the west coast via priority mail just as fast. USPS FTL They FAIL! Oh, and something fell on it in shipment and dented it and broke the plastic Sleeve. INMotion is buying me a new sleeve. I just hope a dealer never has to remove the ECU for a warranty repair, as it is now obvious that it has been out of the car and dented...

I still have a Monsoon outside, so I still have no real first impressions of the tune. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

ok, I'll make this short, simple and sweet. It's worth the $320 all day. The day to day drivability isn't any different that I can tell. Now, once you get into the gas a little it a noticable difference. The mid-range, part throttle pull is much better and the high-range pull is MUCH better. I can easily see how this tune is good for .3-.4 in the 1/4. This thing is an absolute beast now. I'm going to have to "learn" how to drive it better before I do anything else to it. I love it. Highly recommend it.
