Question Need Your Opinions on my next Performance Mod

Ok, so I'm starting to come out of money cash crunch(I think) and I'm ready to start thinking about my next mod. So far I have the following done:

- NeedsWings Intake

- Resonator Deleted

I value everyone's opinion here, so let me know what you think and why... My next options are taking into account a strict budget of $500. What should I do?

- LET Heat Exchanger and Johnson Pump

- InMotion ECU Tune (Custom or Standard?)

- Sprint Booster

- LET Intake Spacers

- NeedsWings Polished Y-Pipe

- Eibach Springs

- Plugs and Wires

- Modified Thermostat

OR A COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE TOTALING AROUND $500ish

OR SHOULD I JUST SAVE FOR PULLEYS AS THEY ARE NOT IN THE BUDGET RIGHT NOW.

I've been following the forums closely since I purchased my SRT in Sept. 07. I am in your shoes right now. I'm looking at purchasing my initial perormance goodies soon. I have no real world experience in the performance category, but here's what I gather from the recent postings:

1. If you're looking for a mod that will make driving feel more spirited, buy the sprintbooster A2. The A1 for the regular crossfires is even more extreme.

2. For more performance gain, and an "in your face" supercharger sound, get the Needswings intake.

I already have the NeedsWings Intake. It's on the list and in my Signature.

Thank you for pointing out my oversight. Obviously, Eibach springs and pulleys provide changes in different categories of performance. If I was in your shoes, I would ask myself what needs to be improved, handling or acceleration? ....(since I already have a bad-a$$ intake? :-)

Umm...save for a pulley, (says me, a guy who doesn't even have an SRT )

The rest of that stuff...I mean...compared to the pulley it's all just a waste.

I think another forum member on here was posting how he was still pulling 11.x AFR's on the stock ECU with 1.5 bar boost. This fits with HDDP's research about the SRT6's injector size. Stock, these things are made for sick power.

As far as springs go the SRT's suspension is hard enough. The only thing that needs help is the dampers, but even then they don't need much help...

- Sprint Booster (I don't understand the point of this, nor respect this mod.. skip permanatly)

- LET Intake Spacers (Same as the Heat Exchanger and Pump, Skip for now)

- NeedsWings Polished Y-Pipe (Not yet released as far as I know)

- Eibach Springs (Nice Drop for a balanced look slightly less back pain.. but i would be surprised if this acctually improved performance much or at all, either way I think it is worthy)

.
Here u go, but that is just my oppnion and it comes down to the ecu tune or the springs... other than that the poster above has given the best alternative.. save for pullies...

Like the age old saying - NOW or LATER

If you want to go for the biggest gains you can feel now.

Then go for the Pulley & Tune (pulley was not on your list)

If you want to build mods that will help you later

Then go for the Heat Exchanger, Pump and Intake Spacers (but only if a pulley is on the horizon)

If you want looks

Then go for a set of Eibach Springs (but you could trim your own and save $$)

A quick jolt in the butt (but no real gain)

Then go for that Sprint thingey

The rest will offer you nothing until you are ready to go beyond what is mentioned above. (Y-pipe, plug wires and Thermostat)

With a budget of 500, I would get the pump and HE (summer is coming) and the spacers (enhance the power of the intake). Thats just a tad over 500, but close enough.

Buy the 178 Pulley off of the guy who is upgrading to a 181 or 185 - there was someone in the LET Special thread looking to upgrade.

That would get you in the pulley upgrade for under $500 (or should).

Unless I'm blind(I've read it three times) I'm missing the person who said they were going to upgrade. I'd buy a used 178 or 181 pulley set if someone was selling...

Don't forget the water pump pulley, the Idler Pulley and a crank bolt.

The Crank pulley by itself will just sit on your bench unless you you opt for a new belt. (even then I'm not sure it would clear the WP Pulley)

The Crank bolt is $6.75 at the MB dealer (in stock) I doubt a Chrysler dealer would stock it.

Shawn posted a link to a 178 pulley on EBAY for $300. I asked the seller if he had the other pulleys - Nope.

Well, after talking with InMotion I decided to go with the ECU tune right now. They said I could pay the additional $180 to upgrade to the full custom tune at any time. Works for me.

the only problem with their tune is that, incase you were to install camshafts or headers at anytime, they will be hardpressed to do the tune.. other than that make sure you specify the octane rating 91 or 93... 93 if you want more power 91 if you use 91...

I had them tune my ECU last May or so. I forgot what I paid. What is the "full custom" job add to their basic tune for the additional $180? Thanks

a few guys on the forum have cut off one complete coil off all four springs with good results. doesnt seem too difficult a job either and would cost you zero. zero is always good

Lifetime updates and retunes whenever you add new toys under the hood. Say you have a stock car and just add the ECU Tune, then you just get the standard reflash. Now later you decide to get an intake, exhaust, pulley etc. The standard reflash is no longer the correct tune and may actually hurt the car. You would just have them reflash it again for the upgrades you do.
