Considering a SRT-6, lost of questions/some pic requests
I did not realize what a bargain they can be now. Are they expensive or cheap to mod (pulley swap, exhaust etc)? How reliable are they once modded (not to the extreme) and how is the handling in the curves?
Also, I am not sure how I feel about the looks. Can some of you post photos of some that are lowered and have aftermarket wheels? (black srt-6 preferred)

Go drive one and you wont have to ask any questions
The handling is superb! The only bad review you get in mags/reviews is understeer and non-responsive steering. The understeer is noticeable but no where near excessive, and the steering seems just fine to me . All of the mags complain about the steering yet I seem to have no problem with it.
The power is great, and of all the people on this forum who drive their cars hard (both modded and stock), I have yet to see any engine or trans failures. That includes those guys on the MB forums with SLK32's and C32 AMGs.
Do yourself a favor and drive one. They can be bought for pennies on the dollar now and you wont find a better car for $20k or less.

The 32 AMG motor is proven to be almost bulletproof. Should be pretty reliable.
Handling in the curves - awesome. It is low, pretty wide, and has huge (wide) tires on it.
For photos, check the gallery. Do a search for SRT6s.
They are great cars. There is nothing else on the road that looks like them.

Most of us with SRTs keep them original because they are quite rare. There are only about 2016 of them in the entire world. Plus, the car looks amazing in person without mods. I have been looking at lowering it though, but keeping all of the parts just in case.
Cheers

The Crossfire is one of those cars that really need to be looked at in person - pictures can't quite capture the shape. Then you need to follow one on a drive to appreciate what other drivers see. After that you won't have any concerns about the looks.

What are some of the typical issues you encounter with these cars? Anything in particular I should look for when at a car lot?
How reliable are they?
BTW here is my current car, it is supercharged also:

I would think an SRT would be as reliable as you could get with a factory supercharged car. It's all MB AMG.
