Default Gas Tank

I've read that the gas tank is inside the barrier between the seats and truck space on the crossfires, but I was wondering how much room there is to work with?

There are some mods I was thinking about doing, but I'd have to screw into that barrier. If theres a inch or so of room I'll be fine, but i obviously don't want to screw right into the tank.

Someone posted some pics of the bulkhead disassembled and the tank exposed just a couple of days ago. Don't remember who it was, but you could try a search !

If you down load the service manual, there some diagrams about that area. That document may give you the info you need.

To answer your question, the fuel tank is located BEHIND the actual barrier. It is covered on the cargo side by a titanium (YES Titanium) plate. If you are going to screw into the side facing the seats, you should be okay. If you are going to screw into the cargo area side, the only steel to screw into is near the top, where it's vertical. The angled portion is the cover plate for the tank.

Hope that helps.
