Default Need pics of lowered SRTs with stock wheels

Please post some pics of your lowered SRT with stock wheels. I've seen BrianBrave's, but would like to see some other colors and angles.

Thanks!

Did you use Eibachs? Did you have to trim the bump stops? Use the stock shocks? Spring puller, or method outlined by BrianBrave in the tech area?

Thanks for the compliments. Yes I used the Eibachs. My car came with the number 3 spring pads in the rear and the number 2s in the front. I switched both front and rear pads to the number 1s (the thinest pads) for the maximum drop on the Eibachs.

I actually forgot to trim the bump stops so I will do that one day. Used the OEM shocks as well. I did spring (no pun intended) for a good Mercedes specific spring compressor. Here is a link to the set.

Looks great. Where did you get the pads from?

I got them from Chrysler Parts Direct. They are under the front suspension and rear suspension sections.

MSheredy...your car looks sharp!

Did you ever fab anything up for your center caps?

Thanks! No I haven't. I was actually thinking about what MI1XFIRE said. I saw some AMG logo center caps on ebay but they are all located in Taiwan so I'm unable to "see" them in person to make sure the finishes are close. I may just end up getting a set and hoping for the best.

I went to the site. How do you know if you are getting the number 1 pad, the tin one?

Thanks for the info and pics guys. I think I'm going to use the Eibachs with stock pads. I may use wheel spacers for the rears too.

I got lucky I guess since there are 5 different part numbers for both front and rear.

Here is a list of part numbers from benzworld.

5mm= #1
9mm= #2
and so on.

You can tell which # you have by counting the dimples on the pads.

The compressor is for both removal and installation. The first spring was a little tricky because my Dad and I had to get used to indexing the spring cups in order to actually get the spring out once it was compressed. Once that one was done they rest went smooth. Just make sure when installing the new springs that they are seated correctly in both the insulator and lower control arms. Otherwise you will get a crooked ride height.

The pads are spring insulators and go up inside the spring pockets in order to prevent metal to metal contact. They also serve as ride height adjustments too because of the different thicknesses offered. Attached is an exploded view showing the highlighted spring pad.
