Thanks to you all no SRT6 for me!!!
I was about a week away from purchasing a 2005 SRT6 with 7,000 miles on it. But after hearing all the Supercharger and IC problems this car has I guess I will be looking at used Corvettes...Very dissappionted that the car is such a piece of crap in the engine department because I really love the way the car looks...

WEIRD what hell is going on is this a joke. You are telling us you passed up on a SRT6 for a corvette. AHHA HAHAHAH lol the AMG engine that has all the kinks worked out over 10 years "piece of crap" was passed up for a run of the mill corvette, to top it off PROBABLY a C5 corvette, assuming since you were looking at SRT's those are the only corvettes in your price range. EVERYONE who has ever owned a corvette knows that there is a list of problems that come with it. LET us know in your warped opinion if these problems, if not taken care of right away, sound more dangerous then and IC pump failure.
Leaks in the drive train, Problem areas include the rear-gear output seals (differential axle seals), front-pump seals and/or gaskets on the automatic transmissions, and the front seal or case sealer leaks on the manual transmissions.
The best part is our cars compensate for the IC going out not letting us over rev or get full throttle response until temp sensor and pump is fixed. lol let me know how your USED corvette compensates for a leak in the tranny or differentail axle.
Do I even need to start with the fact that your dime a dozen corvette will only run high 13s sometimes low 14s lol

Re: Thanks to you all no SRT6 for me!!!
Wow, is about all I can say to that... A $125 upgraded IC pump stops someone from buying one. Let us know how that vette works out for you when it starts drinking oil like gas and motor blows. The Rear gears make a really interesting sound too. I kinda enjoy it myself. Everyone within a block of you will know it's a vette with a broke rear end. So, your out of warrany repair costs, in my prediction, will total $1,000 + in the first 6 weeks. Of, and look out for those rear brake rotors, they have a bad habit of cracking and coming apart with hard use...
Ok, so how many people on here are running mods? Has anyone had a reliability issue or blown anything up yet? Anyone? That's what I thought.

I wish I owned a crappy SRT6 but I love my '04 Coupe. If you think a SRT6 is crappy you are very misinformed.
Re: Thanks to you all no SRT6 for me!!!
You're absolutely right, these Crossfires (especially the SRT's) will never hold up well enough for you.
Considering your size, you'll be much more comfortable in a used Vette, and blend right in with the rest of the traffic.
And as we all know, Corvettes NEVER have any problems.
Good Luck with your new Vette, and be sure to come back when ya can stay longer.

Re: Thanks to you all no SRT6 for me!!!
You know, if he spends a week on ANY car forum he can find a recurring flaw with ANY car. Some are minor, some aren't. Last I checked the Corvette was no more or less "perfect" than any other car on the road today. Perhaps a bicycle would be a better transport mode for this guy.
Re: Thanks to you all no SRT6 for me!!!
lol I hope he comes back this is what we call getting owned. Untill then I found pictures for all to just laugh at lol lets hijack this thread and turn it into best looking corvette pictures we can find thread.

Hey redlinedrummer...I'm guessing that you're not real good at math, so I'll help you out.
Instead of getting a great and unique car ($45,000 new a couple of years ago for $25,000 now) that MIGHT need a $150 fix...you want to be a lemming and get a corvette. Hmmm...jump off the cliff, jump off the cliff...
