I would bet that 99% of the members on this forum would trade even on a vette, '05 for a '05 and so on. the resale value on a vette is like no other. I like the crossfire and the vette. I have owned a crossfire and 3 corvettes and when its time to trade out of the vette there is very little pain in the wallet to do so. There both great vehicles and i love to see both on the street.
Re: Thanks to you all no SRT6 for me!!!
I was actually going to buy a c6 vette but the price tag was just too high for my budget.
Srt6 17-25k
c6 vette 30-35k
It was an easy choice for me. Plus if you want the better ls3 engine you have to buy 2008+ meaning 40k+++. I'll drop a pulley and supporting mods on our car and be happy.
Wow we are making this guys thread popular. Guess he really did go out w/ a bang.

I traded FROM a C5 to an SRT-6, and would I go back...most definately not.
If he thinks C5's do not have many infuriating (and expensive) problems, he's not looking very hard. (Fuel gauge senders, ECBM, Idler pulleys, passenger side window motor to mention a few) not what you'd expect from a 'top of the line' vehicle.

1st of all the Guy who posted the original message i'm sure will be calling his vette a piece of Crap the 1st time anything goes wrong with it! Also The Intercoller pump is a non issue for probably 90% of crossfire owners. As most owners don't beat the hell out of their cars (at least I hope!). Also I owned a convertible vette some years ago. This was a beautiful car, but very VERY tempermental. Everyone who owns a Vette knows they are fickle cars, it comes with the territory! Also My crossfire is a daily driver, And a vette simply is not.

If I could have purchased a new (or slightly used) Vette for what I paid for my new SRT-6 I'd be on the Vette forum right now.
But I would have needed to pony up an additional $25K for a Coupe or $55K for a Z06!

Just to give you all a little fun story about how great our cars look. When I first meet my girlfriend two winters ago, she came over and saw My crossfire on my desktop background, she laughed and said what is that your dream car or something. I said YEAH, its the one in the garage. lol I will never forget it.

I'll trade for a ZO6!! Anyone? Anyone? I was at the Drag strip one night with one of my old drag bikes, and saw a young girl ripping a brand new, black ZO6. Pass after pass. I finally asked her about the car. She said, "Yeah, my Dad got me this for my birthday. I just told him I wanted a nice sports car. I guess this is ok, but I really wanted a Gallardo." I almost shi* my self!!
