'05 srt6 roadster or '08 roadster limited?
Re: 05 srt6 roadster or 08 roadster limited?
First question. Why would you want to give up the SRT, any problems with it?
Second question: What do you like about the '08 Roadster that the SRT 6 doesn't have?
If you're worried about the warranty, bring the SRT lease back and tell them to add in a Chrysler extended warranty and you'll keep it. You should have lots of room to negotiate given the prices of used Crossfires.

Re: 05 srt6 roadster or 08 roadster limited?
I have positively loved the '05 SRT6 roadster for 39 months. Not one bit of trouble. The lease is now up and Chry Fin wants $4k to $5k more than what dealers are asking for used '05 SRT6 roadsters on ebay. I was questioning myself to see if it is a smart decision to pay the same amount of money for a 3 year old SRT6 vs a new '08 limited roadster. Just taking the pulse of the forum on this decision.
Re: 05 srt6 roadster or 08 roadster limited?
Does that price leave any room for negotiation? It seems Chrysler would work with you - they should know that a dealer won't give them anything for the car and they will be stuck with it. Maybe somebody here has experience in this...
BTW - I owned a 1969 Mustang convertible 302 with FMX tranny black top over Meadowlark Yellow. My favorite year - I love the way the headlights look. You can not mistake a 1969 model. And you can not mistake your SRT-6 for any other model as well.

A black SRT-6 roadster will become a very rare and likely hot commodity. That probably won't be the case with any limited roadster (and I own a limited roadster).

SRT-6 Roadsters Produced : 968
Limited Roadsters Produced : 15,000-20,000
Hmmm, let me think. SRT-6 is a no brainer. If you really think you'll keep the car for the long haul, then keep the 6. In the long run, a nice, clean low mileage SRT Roadster is going to worth WAY more than a plain one of any year. I would hit Chrysler to split the difference between current market value and what your buyout is. Also, get them to through in a MaxCare Warranty and stick to it. They can do what they want. If you don't get anywhere with the dealer, request that you be put into contact with the "Dealer Rep". He will have the power to make it happen. I've seen them give a customer a FULL 7Year/100,000 MaxCare warranty and $1,000 in Mopar Performance Accessories on a new 2006 Viper just becuase the car showed up 2 weeks later than promised and the customer bitched loud enough to make it happen. They can make anything they want to happen happen. It just depends on who you can talk to and how loud your voice is heard. I wouldn't settle for a Limited if you can keep the SRT for a reasonable cost. You can NEVER get another new SRT-6. Keep it and cherish her for the misunderstood exotic future Classic that she is!

would be no more consideration given to this choice than I would give to
selecting a slice of pie ala-mode over just a slice of pie. The only question
would be, could I "afford" it? Good luck with your decision. (PS, It was my
decision, and at a much higher price differential. I chose the SRT-6).

The buyout price was set when you signed the original contract. That is the way leases are negotiated. Definitely a gamble with the depreciation factor that one always takes in a lease. A lot has changed since you signed that lease.
I don't think you will find them flexible.
