Post phantom grip lsd

Their lsd looks like the kleeman unit and I have reinstalled the rear in my 05 with good results. I can recommend it as it helps even out the torque to the tires in hard corners and high g take off's. No problem just took 5 hours to pull and install it. I sent the rear to them and they installed it for the total price of 499$.

Write me if you have a question but it is good and the car runs well. I will use it for autocrossing and needed the posi as the open rear lit the tires SLICKS too often.

I also have taken the photos of the removal of the resonator and replacement of stainless 4" twin wye from summit racing. Looks are well received and sound is totally with it. NO RESONATING like my 73 challenger and a european sound with authority. Photos to follow. WW

1/16/2008 update there are photos below, keep reading Woody

Its is Lsd or limited slip defirential it is made to basically limit the wheel slip by evenly distributing the power to the wheels thus making launching the car easier and making the car faster at least on take offs... it is a handling modification that is greatly appreciated by all performance car drivers...

what we have right now is an open differential.. there is plenty of information about both that you can find online that explain exact differences between differentials..

But phantom grip is not a real.. LSD....... what it is... is a part installed into the stock open differential to make it behave more like a real limited slip differential like quiafe...

Thanks for the info. I am a nerd; just not a car nerd. I do know what a limited slip differential is but I did not know what the initials Lsd meant. LSD has a different connotation for me since I grew up in the 50's and 60's. Thanks for all the help and info.

The launches are strong and you leave two mostly similar length tire marks indicating traction is similar to both wheels. THE TAKE OFFS ARE WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF!!!!!!!!!!. I will be running the car is this manner during autocross events as the factory traction control will cut the throttle and apply brakes if it gets too much rear wheel speed versis the front wheels. PS the speedometer is driven off the front wheels on the 2005 srt-6, that I have. I also have installed a sprint booster long ago and it is a necessity in my mind, Woody.

one week turn around, they are easy to talk to go to the web name phantom grip. Never checked the shipping, i TOOK THE RING GEAR OFF TO LIGHTEN IT. Iam in Va and they are in Fla, check them out it is worth the time and I enjoy the feeling of a "posi" again, my 1973 440 six pack challenger sort of spoiled me and it does not get f=driven too much since the crossfire enter the next garage bay, too many toys???????Woody

the older 90's 124 E-class has an electronic locking rear diff, it switches to open at speeds below 15 mph.

Chrysler probably didn't want to be responsible for this happening.
