I'm keeping the traction control on for now on unless I'm the only one on the road.

Straight launch with TC off, I can barely get a chirp out of my tires.
I can feel the back end sit down and grab,PS2's. With TC on, I will get
the usual throttle down. Going around a turn no TC, sideways is
a way of life. That is why I always warn new owners, get to know
your car before you put the pedel to the metal.

Well let me tell ya story and it's not about a man named Jed(LOL)

When I bought my SRT6 it had 6 miles on it. It was very fast!!. I took the car out with in the first couple of days and shut the traction control off. From a dead stop, t/c off, I punched it and turned the wheel allot and holy #$%# I went around twice before I could stop the car. On take off pulling out of a side street and punch it with t/c off the car gets a little loose then the t/c kicks in and all is well. It seems if you floor it and get is sideways really quickly the yaw can not compensate quick enough.

Sometimes with t/c off it still kicks in but it seems only when I do moderate to light acceleration in a corner. I am scared to death to floor it in a corner even with the t/c on.

I have noticed that my car lights them up in 3 gears now that I have 4500 miles on her.

She is very scary in loose sand I wouldn't drive her on a dirt road so I can't say what that is like.

The car is much more responsive and the t/c interferes less than it was with under 3k miles.

Leave t/c on unless you want to die if you are an inexperienced driver. I shut it off when I want to have fun and am expecting to get sideways other wise under normal driving(normal for me anyways) I leave it on even when hot ******* with another driver.

This car is very light in the rear end. It likes to get sideways. The t/c makes the car driveable, otherwise you wold never be able to punch it up. that assumes that most people really don't know how to power slide or drift a corenr at 50mph.

Sounds like you have a factory freak there... more than the standard HP and torque and a "slow" yaw sensor. I'd see about getting the yaw sensor checked if I were you. I couldn't get mine to go in a circle from a stop if my life depended on it... the ESP is WAY too intrusive.

Good luck!

I must be an old lady driver! I bought my SRT new in May and put 7K on it without ever even fish-tailing in any way, shape or form. Even if I try to get spicy my TC shuts me down so fast the only thing spinning is my head.

Quit scaring me, driving fast (I thought) is too much fun!

A further example of the inconsistent application of the yaw control and t/c. On the way home last night I stopped at a stop sign and proceeded to take a right. I tapped, literally tapped, the throttle and the car was completely sideways wit the t/c on. There was a lot of loose sand. Now I tried to mimic the reaction by stomping on the gas with the wheel straight and the t/c kicked in immediately. Like you all said it may be the yaw control that is the problem( or not a problem if you like to get sideways). when I first had the vehicle I couldn't get it sideways and was looking for a way to do so but I proffered a way of turning it on and off. I considered adding a switch to the yaw controller as am told it is located under the center console and adding an in-line switch to the fuses for the t/c. It seems I won't need to. I will further investigate as to when the t/c and yaw seem to allow more sliding than others and report back.

Interesting... Now I'll have to go test this myself.

I haven't intentionally tried to get the car sideways in over six months, so we'll see if it's looser now.

I'll report back what I find.

What, are you trying to save it for a special occassion or something? C'mon man, drive that thing like you stole it sometimes.

I will have to go ahead and add my contribution as to how much i HATE traction control.

As we all know the traction control comes on soon as you loose traction. Push the button and its a "little" more forgiving, but not much. So i just pulled out of the car wash and im thinking man i love my car, i think ill get the rear loose in a responsible manner. Push TC button. Make a right hand turn onto the feeder road and GAS it. Back end slides out super fast and really far and before i can correct it like i do in 99% of every other RWD car the TC kicks on. Well, when the TC comes on in the middle of a power slide, you cant use the momentum to steer back into the fishtail. So what happens....the car just kinda bogs....you go sideways in a straight line towards the curb and look like a total dumbass. Arggg....i speed off quiclky as possible to avoid anyone pulling along side me and giving me the "dumbass" look. We all know the look im talking about.

Point is.....TC is for novices. If your an experienced driver TC is dangerous because it is UNPREDICTABLE. Well, at least for me

OK my rant is over.
