Talking SRT-6 on order...thanks to everyone that helped!

As some of you may have seen in my other post i have been looking for the "right" srt-6 in black. Due to such great feedback from forum members i was able to promptly locate a few right away. The first one i checked out was in Bonham, TX. It turned out to have too many issues to name. The next one i looked at was in Tyler, TX. It was a little better, but still lacking in the cosmetics dept. I wasn't willing to settle for mediocrity unless i was getting it uber-cheap, which neither of these was. Finally Evan (cruzinquick) posted the link to an add for one that was "like new" with only 438 miles on it 2 states away. As soon as i saw the pics i knew it was the one for me. But how could i buy a car sight unseen and really know what i was getting? It turns out Evan doesn't live too far away from where the car is. He went in person to check it out for me and even sent me pics and video of the car. I cant convey how much i appreciate this, since it saved me from flying out there but still gave me peace of mind. Hopefully i will receive my car before Christmas like the dealer promised!

I've been in numerous forums and i must say that this is by far the most helpful and respectable one yet. There are a bunch of very helpful people here willing to go a long way to help other enthusiast. Hope it stays that way.

I got it for $26,289 shipped, that includes the bs $399 documentary fee. I will still have to pay tax when it arrives. It was explained to me to be like new and a 9.9 on a 1-10 scale. It has nav (which i'll never use)...but still its nice to say you have, lol.

The way i understand it is that the car is technically used since it has been titled. I think Evan told me the warranty ends in November of '08. He appearantly checked the in service date. The dealer offered me an extended 100,000 Chrysler warranty for $1,200 - $1,500. I guess i could still accept it, but i'm usually not big on warranties. What do you guys think?

Not a bad price! I'm not big on extended warranties either. I would never buy a third party warranty on anything, especially cars. But, one major repair on these cars (while highly unlikely) could be very expensive. The factory warranty is cheap insurance. For example, Ford replaced the engine in my Expedition with 50k miles on it. It cost me $0.

Get the warranty. That cost could be one trip to the shop.

If it is the chrysler max care warranty i would look into it if you plan on keeping the car for a long time. They have other opitons besides the 100,000. I honestly can't remember which one i went with without looking at the paper work but with my car being stored winters i went with something like 6 yr 50k miles on mine. I was more interested in extending the years than the higher mileage.

Hi and congrats! You can get the warranty at any Chrysler dealership, one close to your home. I just purchased a 2005 limited roadster and because of the expensive costs to the Crossfire I added the warranty. My car goes off the original warranty in Sept. '08 and I plan on keeping this beauty so I added the additional warranty to start when the original ends. You never know. It's better to be save than sorry. You will love your new ride!!! I hope you're crusin' before Christmas. Enjoy and Happy Holidays.

Glad to help out a fellow member. Was trying to still get you a better deal, but I think someone else seen the add and called in and that didn't help our negotiating. I should have sent it in a PM like I did with Coupe Girl in helping her out. Remember this car came with 100,000 mile warranty and free oil changes for life, but only at the dealership. So it didn't benefit you, unless it's something major. Make sure you get that as well, since it's included and you can use it down the road if you ever come to AZ or sell the car. I hope good weather is waiting for you when the car arrives. If this car was SSB, I would have bought it.

Congrats, You will not regret it, Only purchase the Chrysler Warranty, Some Dealerships sell aftermarket warranties, and they make a better profit in Finance, only purchase the Chrysler warranty. I just purchased '04 coupe with only 3,200 miles. I got the warranty also with no reservation. You will not have 7\70 on a '06 unlike mine. Take the 100,000 Mile. As was stated one trip on the wrong part can be the cost of the Warranty. Good luck and Enjoy.

Get the warranty... The SRT6's have an issue with the Intercooler pump. Mine stopped working and it was replaced under warranty with 0 cost to me. I wonder how much that would have cost otherwise.

Congratulations on the SRT. Looks like we almost have enough members for a North Texas get together.

240MSRT, Congrat!! Be careful the first day or two.. Get used to the autoshift as soon as possible. It is a rush cruising 70 down the
highway, drop it into third and take off like a rocket. Can't wait for
the dyno results.. With and without CAI. I predict you will get more
HP gain with Brian's than others.
