Hey, Rob I have been working on this setup for a good while now and for us guys who like to do the 1/4 the answer to a better 60' and beyond is a lower gear, does anybody make one or could we get them too!? This car has roughly a 3:08-1 gear and this is a topend gear not that great for a 1/4 mile drag. (although the car does well, imagine it with a gear maybe a 3:75-1 ?) This thing would crush !!.

To bad you can't get a high-stall converter for the Merc auto. Maybe some smaller diameter rear tires would help.
Is the SRT's 3.07 differential any more "beefed up" than the NA's 3.27? If not, then swapping differentials with a Limited, and going down 1" in diameter with your Drag Radials would be almost like having a 3.50:1 gear. Would really need the LSD then.

One look that was powerful both for Visual impact and marketing through the 60's & 70's was, and we all had or wanted them, Mickey Thompson finned valve covers. That's a look, that would still look great and aid in the disipation of heat.

give me some ideas please, or we could just cut grooves in the top to give it a ribbed look. we have acess to waterjet/cnc/laser so limited by imagination basically.

I'm going to have to stop myself from coming on this forum because I'm shelling out so much on mods. You people are making me broke.

Hey Chi, read my sig. Your going to need alot more than that to get your title back. Theres going to be alot of nasty SRT6's once LET sends out those pulleys.

rear diff...
we have a 3.07 gear back there, the c32 uses a different housing so the quaife will not go back there. the na xfire and slk 320 use the same housing as the srt6 with a 3.27 gear. im trying to get ahold of one of those to bring to getrag to see if they can beef up the springs to get us closer to equal distibution with it

I won't let the cat outta the bag yet but lets just say I have something up my sleeve to ensure some new record times....for me at least. It's great to see everyone modding up these cars. Let's turn the rest of the sports car world into believers one win at a time!

Sounds good, it's to bad you did not get in on the event at US 41 that ChicagoX and LET put together. It is May 17th, there will be a couple of SRT6's there.

Hopefully the rearend/gears and ECU aren't like the ones in the LX cars(charger/300/magnum) which use M-B rearend and tranny. For a long time it was impossible to change the gears because the ECU would see the difference in wheel speeds; among other things, and shut the car down. Supposedly they just solved that problem with the new Diablo programmer.
