Default Court today...

Earlier this month I was at a light MMOB when a C5 Vette came up next to me and rev'd. We both hit it from the light and I was smoking em pretty good by a buslength or two when I approaced a hill...

I proceeded over the hill and guess what was waiting on the other side? The good ol local PD...

I pulled over right away and the vette kept on going...

The cop did not arreste me but towed my car and wrote me 2 tickets, one for drag racing and one for 40 plus over the speed limit. Both these tickets alone can suspend my DL for a year.

The tow and impound fee cost me 660 just to get my car back and this was before my court date....

I got a lawyer right away and this morning had the drag racing dropped and probation for the speeding.

The court fee was 440, the tow/impound fee was 660 and the lawyer was 375 and thats only because I know him and he charge me half price...

Overall I am VERY upset I was that dumb...definetly not worth it in the long run....

Oh Chi-Town/SRT6, you were naughty boy! My guess is there will be a lot more SRT6 getting caught after NeedsWings buys the pulleys.

When I have a fit to go fast, a pick a lonely piece of interstate at night and then drive over the area twice with a radar detector. So far so good. Unfortunately, many, many moons ago I was picked for doing 105MPH in a 25MPH. After much haggling, I got it reduced to 55/25. I paid my fine and got out of their as fast as I could.

WOW $1475 bucks.......
How long is probation and what are the consequences if you violate it ??

That does suck and the Corvette didn't pay a penny.

you should have kept your foot in it.......sounds like the cop would have caught the vette before he got to you, then you could be the one laughing!

You were lucky

http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/streetlegal.html

I got a speeding ticket Saturday - 71+ in a 55. First ticket in years and 10-to-1 the Highway patrolman is a no show at court. He passed the above website address to me with the ticket after he asked me what SRT stood for.

He was going to also include my illegal tint job on the ticked but I told him I had already been "nailed" for that one. He came unglued - "did you say NAILED - What does "NAILED" mean?"

I started laughing hard and could tell by his accent he was no California boy. I asked him where he was from and how long he had been on the force; Ohio with less then 2 years on the force. I showed him my $10 fix-it ticket for the tint and plates (still waiting for my personalized plates from the DMV) and let him know that he can't "NAIL" me again until the due date.

I was nice - showed him my car and hoped I would be is only "Show" at court and he will decide to stay home. IF not - on-line traffic school.

Bummer, you should have kept on going instead of stopping. Chances are the cop would have stopped the "loser" in the drag race since he would be farther behind. Remember the old "bear" joke.

Two guys are camping when all of a sudden a hungry bear appears before them and starts to chase the pair. They bolt as fast as they can.. As the first guy runs by the tent, he grabs the other guy's shoes and flings them into the bushes. The 2nd guy said "Hey man, we are being chased by a bear, why did you throw my shoes, he'll probably kill us both and we can't out-run him for long... To which the first guy answers: "I don't have to out run HIM, just YOU!"

Great story...you may have been faster than the copter! You should make the story part of your profile "156 mph got me 6 days in the slammer".

I was caught Saturday two weeks ago doing 106 in a 70 in my MINI. . . Oh well. . . That'll teach my parents not to buy me a small horsepower car. . . LOL. . .
I never learn anything. . .
