Well he is from England, you missed that!

And with that info & your info above, gives me an Idea & the reason why these are appearing in Europe.

The probable reason why Chrysler said there were "No '06 Srt6s", is that the last ones made after the USA Cut-off Date, were all suppose to Stay in Europe & still be Titled 2005's under their custom of Dating the Model Year!
However someone fouled up, as always happens in Big Companies, & let some of those late Calendar Year 2005, "06's" be shipped to the USA.

I think we may have found an answer to the "2006 SRT6 Mystery" !

The cutoff date for the US is JUNE - anything Produced in June or thereafter is considered the Next Model Year.

A manufacturer can actually manufacture to a specific U.S. model year (MY) for up to 24 months, starting in January of the calendar year prior to the MY and up to december of the MY. However it is rarely done after mid-calendar year with a few exceptions. VW just did this with their 2006 MY Jetta Diesel because they couldn't yet meet the new emission standard that started with 2007 MY vehicles and they still wanted to sell diesel models in calendar year 2007 (manufactured up to December 2006).

It is now much easier in Europe, manufacturing calendar year = model year. Before, the MY change over occured in July...just my .02

I'll have to check it when I get home, but I'm pretty sure the 2006 brochure said that 2006 SRT6's would be available, but they would be made to custom order only, not make to stock.

I've stated this before but here is what I was told by DCX:
There were not supposed to be any 2006 SRT6s sold to the public. They were 'test mules,' but accidentally got sold at auction.
I assume he was referring to the U.S. only.
