Factory Seat Bracket question
Factory Seat Bracket question
Greetings, and thank you for any help...
I tried the search engine and could not come up with any answer so here goes...
Ok so I just drove my new SRT-6 home Black 40 miles (very happy).
As I was driving home, I noticed the driver seat, was feeling a bit unstable ? The bottom cushion felt as if it was separate from the
back rest portion of the seat (just giving out? rear part dropping down). So I'm driving along and I'm thinking probably an adjustment, so I am fiddling around with the power adjusters, no difference...
(I have other new sports cars, so something was up).
Got it home, got out and started looking at it closely... the seat cushion part pushes down separate...as in not a unit (solid seat) so I thought that is very bizarre ?
So I went to look at the passenger seat, to compare, the passenger seat is perfect, solid, stable as one would expect...ok so what's the difference here... I noticed (from the front) on the passenger seat two small metal loops in between the seat cushion and the back support, I then moved the seat all the way forward flexed it all the way (this is the passenger seat) in the back of the seat below the hinge where the seat flexes there is a metal bracket that spans the distance of the seat, its bolted to the seat frame and has the loops I could see through the front and one projecting towards the rear, this bracket appears to, keep the main springs compressed and make the seat a stable unit...
You guessed it, I move the driver seat forward flex it all the way and there is No bracket, also feeling the springs they are not compressed ...
Question...can someone take a look at your seats to confirm this bracket is on your driver seat ...Thanks...
I will take it to the dealer tomorrow, just wondering...
Sorry for the long post...
Thanks again for your help, from a Newbie... Love the new ride !!!
