Default InMotion ECU tune Review/Results

Got my ECU back today and went for a ride. Definetly a seat of the pants difference! Took her to the dyno and confirmed the difference...the car gained 11 RWHP and 11 RWTQ! Not too shabby considering it was a mustang dyno which are known to give lower numbers.

The A/F ratio is much better now as well with it maintaining 12.6-12.2 almost all the way through the rpm range!

Taking her to the track this sunday and can hopefully hit a new best...

Will post attachments of dyno run shortly...

Sounds like a nice package.

I bet you are truly making somewhere around 325 - 335 RWHP.

Sweet - I am glad to hear that this pulley / ECU tune setup works so well. I believe it is the lowest cost, most bang for the buck HP one can get for the SRT. Renntech charges $3,300 and EVO $2,900 for basically the same setup.

And with the Needswings intake setup - you are ready to rock - Pray for global warming and no winter!!

$500 for a custom tune around the pulleys and intake. So for $1,500 you can get ASP pulleys with a custom tune. Hundreds cheaper than the competition and IMHO you may not need to tune the car. I will base my results of the tune on my track results...

Nice, Now to see how she does at the track with some nice cold air. I still think you need to come out on Sat. and play.

Is that Mustang Dyno predictions or DynoJet? If you're talking DynoJet numbers, then you probably a little low. Remember, the NeedsWings intake got it to 325-330 RWHP by itself. Factor in the pulley and ECU and I'd bet it would be in the 370-380 range.

Here is a link to the dyno info...

http://totalpowerperformance.com/dyno

My Z06 put 363 to the wheels on a dynojet and ran a best of 12.6@113. It surprises me how low this car dynos but track numbers are more of my concern and those feel pretty darn good at the moment!

I purchased the Inmotion Tune from the ebay site. I sent the Computer in and it was back the very next day. The car started without any problems. I unfortunetly cannot tell any difference. I have raced this car at 4 track events (road america races) and about a dozen auto-cross. I know my car and how it drives. I cannot tell any difference after the tune. My car is not modified in anyway. I have not chaged the exhaust or air-intake. The RPM range did not change (shift point) and the top end (speed) did not change.
Inmotion is very easy to communicate with and James and asked me to talk to another member (Bike-cop) to see if the problem could be diagnosed.
Again, I know my car and its OEM performance. My car only has 10K miles on it and has no engine or mechanical problems. I cannot tell any difference.

I'll base my full results after my track day this sunday. Did you dyno the car before and after? The website lists a VERY nice increase with the tune (from 330 hp all the way up to 365) and you should DEFINETLY notice that increase.

The A/F got pretty fat toward redline. 12.1 from around 3,900 rpm down to 11.4 at 5,800. Now i'm at 12.5 at 3,900 rpm and 12.0 at redline.

I'm happy to hear your tune went well, but a bit confused about the AFR you posted... It seems unusual for this engine to produce and maintain such a rich mixture with the OEM 02 sensors and the stock ECU without retarding the timing... Can you elaborate ?

All I know is that the stock chip was sent along with the tuned ECU which means a new chip is in the ECU. Do you think that did it?

Just curious...

I was just looking at the specs on the differences between the 32 AMG cars and ours. I don't understand why they are different... I understand the difference in PS vs. HP and Ft. lbs vs. Newton Meters of torque. But given these have been proven to all be the same spec(just rated lower), why are these number different? Ok, we know the SRT-6 really makes 349 HP stock. This says it take is to 365 HP. In reality that's only 16 HP. And only a 20 PS boost on the AMG cars? I'm going out on a limb and guess that the base chip only adds a few ponies. I seriously don't think it would add 35 HP. Sorry to synical, but something is not quite right when comparing these numbers on identical engines in three different cars. Anyone have any insite into this?

SLK 32 AMG

354 PS
374 PS
450 NM
480 NM

C32 AMG

354 PS
374 PS
450 NM
485 NM

SRT-6

330 HP
365 HP
310 ftlbs
340 ftlbs

I questioned the same thing on the phone when ordering and he said that the stock tunes in both cars is in fact different? I really don't get it myself but I can attest that the car is faster after driving it around this evening. If I had to guess I would say 12.0-12.1 at the track this sunday with a few mph in the traps as well.

I agree Chi.

I stopped trying to figure out why the numbers between the SRT, SLK and C32 differ. All that can be done is is to go with the mods available, let the track times do the speaking, and just enjoy the ride.

I hope the conditions are right and you break into the 11's.
