Run an 11.999999999999991 or you're fired...

Without a decent set of drag radials (which are not available in our size 19 inch rear) I really doubt that is possible. The Pilot Sports are good but this car just RIPS em to shreds off the line. I actually broke a little loose when the car shifted into 4th last sunday! I hope to hit 11's on these tires but have doubts at the same time.

Get a set of Mercedes Knock Off replica 17 x 9 wheels for a C32 or SLK 32 and put a set of 265-275 BFGoodrich KDW2 Drag Radials. Should be abel to get that setup for less than $850.

And may God have mercy on your CV Axles and rear end...

I hope the conditions are right and you break into the 11's.

To my understanding part of the differences are the cam shafts.

doubt it, where did you hear that? The sport cams will add 15-20hp to the NA motor but I never heard about sport cams for the AMG engine as I don't think anyone have manufactuered any. If you put the N/A sport cams in the SRT6 or AMG engine you will loose power due to intake exhaust ovelap. If mercedes or AMG did thier homework, I would be willing to bet that the SRT/AMG cams have no exhaust overlap which retains cylinder pressure, thus more power.

I don't believe that increasing valve lift on the SRT engine wil gain more power, the air is already being forced into the cylinders. but cnc porting to the intake ports along with a different valve design will definatly make some ponies.

Received a follow up call from inmotion today and spoke more about how the car was tuned. Basically the new chip inside the ecu can do whatever you tell inmotion you want it to do! He can custom tune around any setup and will eventually tune my ecu for 100 octane! The great part is once you pay for the custom tune you get FREE updates if you decide to add any mods!

Not only that but remember that there were only what 3600-4000 of these cars built (convertibles included). Why would they spend more dough on another set of cams specfic for the SRT? If anything I would say the tune is different, if at all.

Difference in hp may be just from the restrictions in the intake set up. They used leftover mercedes drivetrain, and probably needed to change the air intake system to accomodate the crossfire engine compartment size.

The intake is the same on all three cars that use this engine. It's the exhaust that is different. I would guess the different exhaust routes and lengths would play into it a bit.

If you look at dragtimes.com it seems like the cars run the same stock and with mods...check it out below.

They are slightly different—where the tubes meet on the radiator core support the C32 grabs air from above the radiator with larger "mouths"

The SLK/Crossfire have smaller openings on the sides of the radiator. The drivers side is completely blocked from direct airflow.

I would of kept the tune you had... leaving it around 11's where nice and relatively safe tune... yes, u'r not at complete optimum settings... but leaves some room incase of a failure in a part.

As for breaking loose in 4th?... thats a bit much.

Hope the weather holds out this weekend and you can get some good runs in!

It happened one time in my Z06 as well at byron when I shifted hard into fourth. Both times it was in the right hand lane and both time is was toward the end of the track. It wasn't much of a break but enough to scare ya a little especially at those speeds.

As for the tune I do have the stock chip that I can always put back in for daily driving. I don't think I will ever do that but it is there just in case. It still get's down to 12.0-12.1 right at redline which is a pretty safe number from what I have been told.

Be sure to get track conditions so we can compare it locally. Thanks and good luck. I think the last time the weather was perfect for your track. Hopefully you will have similiar conditions. Otherwise you can factor your numbers with your first run conditions and compare apples to apples. It's possible to run slower just based on weather conditions and not necessarily if your new mods made a difference. Those last few tenths are the hardest to get. Have fun.

It's supposed to rain and be in the 50's tommorrow. Last weekend of the year to give her a shot and then the dragway closes.

Hope it doesn't rain, but 50's would be good!

I have been considering reprogramming the ECU for our SRT-6 engine to get some extra HP and torque. However, is there any evidence to indicate that our AMG 3.2 Liter V6 Kompressor engine is not outputting 349 hp w/ 332 lb-ft of torque as it does in the SLK 32 AMG. Where did that 19 hp/22 lb-ft of torque disappear to? Did AMG insist that Chrysler modify the ECU software so that it wasn’t that obvious we were getting one of their engines. Or, did they insist that Chrysler just give lower specs. I don’t want to perform a major upgrade, just reprogram the ECU for a little extra oomph plus, perhaps, better gas mileage (since premium will soon reach $4.00 per gallon). However, there is a huge lack of agreement whether an ECU tune will do that.

I was thinking the same thing. I know my right leg has become stronger since being an owner but any members with this tune notice any mileage gains?
