That is very irritating that people don't have much consideration of others cars.

There's a sign at my local car wash (no I don't take the xfire there) that advertises taking those dents out. Maybe you have someone in your city that can do that.

Samething happened to me and I had under a thousand miles.

I parked my car far away and when I came out I noticed an ML parked a little close to me, before I got to see the damage I knew there had to be some.

It really does really ruin your day.

Go to Dent Wizard or Dent Doctor. Used paintless dent repair on every vehicle I've owned. Best thing since sliced bread!

Don't feel too bad...I came outside to my truck and saw a shopping cart on the other side of it. I've got 35" tires on it, so I was thinking maybe I was safe and hit just hit the tire.

I walked around, saw a scuff on my front bumper - no big deal, it will buff out.
Continued to look and found a giant dent/crease in the fender (which sits 12" above the top of a shopping cart ). Continued to look, and saw a 18" long 1" deep crease in my lower driver's door.

Apparently someone put their cart next to my truck...and then someone tried to 'pull through' next to my spot and ran over the front of the cart, effectively 'catapulting' the rear handle into the wheel well/fender of my truck. When they continued to drive, it drug the cart down the door.

So, a new fender and a new door were in order. Luckily I paint myself, so I took care of that. The parts were a little over $375 at cost and materials were around $200. OUCH!

No...walmart didn't catch it on camera. For the record, I was all the way at the back, and had a curb on one side of me (I always do that for added security, it didn't work).

Wish I could've used PDR on my truck! Would've been a lot easier.

That sucks!
I have a small dent in my passenger door that is only visible in the right light. It looks like someone kicked or kneed it. It had less than 500 miles and was only 3 months old. I have only had it since april.

When Purchasing my 1st Crossfire I looked carefully at the car, not 1 ding or dent, when i went to pick up the car at the dealer i noticed 3 dings on the car I almost freaked!!!! I told the manager I'm not taking this car unless these dings are gone!! He called a paintelss dent & ding remover guy who came immeidately and removed the dings completely. I was truely amazed. Needless to say I accepted the car. Paintless dent removal is the way to go!!

The Paintless guys have about 1000+ tools they can use to remove dings. Most of them are small metal rods with different types of tips on them. These rods are manipulated to press against the metal just the right way so that it does not stretch and does not crack the paint.

It truly is an art, and cool to watch. Do a search for PDR Tools on ebay...you'll see them.

I usually park as far away as possible then take up 2 parking spots. I know someone will get mad and key it, then I'll be hiding in the bushes and jack someone up. Naw, I usually take another car or truck when I'm going somewhere congested. If I had to take it to work, I guess my goal would be that "Employee of the Month" parking spot in front. It sucks that people don't respect other people's property, but thats our society.

Let the pros do it! Don't use a suction cup, that won't do anything but cause more issues with stretching the metal. As mentioned, the pros have specialized training and special tools that they manipulate from the inside out. They work the metal back into shape. It really is amazing to watch.

Thumbs up Re: Door Ding

Don't even try to remove the ding your self, you'll be very sorry you tried. Just get a good paintless dent removal company to do it. Also I highly advise not taking up 2 parking spots anywhere you go, even if there's hundreds of EMPTY spots available, someone will key you car or dent it on purpose!!! park in corner spots away from the other cars, and you'll be fine!!!
