Eeek!

I'm nervous enough driving it but now I know it's a rarity!

I'd picked up on production being canned and I've just read a headline that Karmann in Germany are laying off 1700 workers because of the cancellation of the Crossfire and Audi A4 Cabrio contracts.

Well I guess I'll have to watch out for the logo thieves. Any friends of yours are friends of mine (as long as they keep their thievin' mits off me badges)

BTW I checked on replacement badges with dealer: $150 EACH! They are still listed over here but no delivery dates quoted.

Check the stock list here

http://www.westernchryslerjeep.co.uk...roved/used.php

They list 2x 2007 SRT6's sitting on the forecourt.

Dealer is in Edinburgh, Scotland

hmm, can't get the site to work, but I can promise you there is no such thing as an '07 SRT-6.

Since I'm the only one that seems to have noticed this thread in detail(these welcome threads are very common and not watched), I think it would be nice to share this information with the masses. I hope you don't mind if I point out your good fortune...

Not true.
There is a mix of Roadsters and Coupes from the 2006 SRT6 VIN batch.

No 06 SRT6 in the states has been seen w/the fender badges. Perhaps it is a non US thing.

Isn't the fender badge the same as the rear badge ?
Hey Andy do you have a rear badge also?

Maybe the dealer put your rear one on the side!

What's your vin#?

You can tell from the picture that badge on the fender is much larger than the one on the trunk. It looks to be similar in size and layout to the SRT-8 Trunk Badge. He posted the VIN in a previous post in this thread. It's a Euro VIN, so I'm not sure if it translates or not. The 10th didgit is a 6 however, so we do know its a legit 2006.

Andy, can you take some more detailed pictures of the Badging on your car? I think we would all like to see what it looks like up close, as your is the first any of us have seen with them.

Bizzarely I don't have a rear SRT 6 badge! Dunn'o if it's been nicked or if it was never part of the build. I get the feeling the EU models are a little different. For example there are no tyre pressure monitors but there are headlight levellers as standard. I dare say I'll find out other differences as I get to know the car better but for the last few days I've been grinning like a maniac and trying to get my head round the power this thing can lay down Amazing!!!

I haven't posted pics yet because it's dark here at 17:00 and I don't get home 'til 19:00 but I'll do a good range at the week end.

Re the vin; see earlier in the thread.

Re the 07 model in Edinburgh. It's a bit bizarre because it was only pre-registered by the dealer in June 07. Normally if they are going to pre-register their 06 stock they do it in Jan but maybe the dealer had hit his quota for the six months so didn't need to pre-register.

BTW slight wind noise from top of driver's window at about 85. Is there a cure or is it a feature ?

Feel free to share the news with others. Perhaps there are other UK members who can add some of the missing details. I think we're all agreed it's an '06. Other bits of interest : engine number is 6X067082 and the registartion details say it's 'variant' PE9N and 'version' R. Haven't a clue what those last two mean or even if they are relevant.

Pics on Saturday; promise.

I don't know about the trunk badge. They may have omitted it from '06s. I know you also have a rear fog light and we don't. I did not know the Euro cars had auto leveling headlights. I wonder if that can be retro fitted to a US car. I have no idea what variant PE9N and version R mean. Perhaps a more technical member could shed some light on that.

Oh yeah, I called it right. I wish I could get my hands on a set of those... I wonder if I could get a set of SRT-8 badges and make the 8 into a 6. hmmmm

Oh, and as far as the wind noise on around the window, its standard equipment. They all do it. There is a Technical Service Bulletin about it here in the states. The dealer should be familiar with the problem and be able to fix it.

I checked with spares: they are available here in the UK at the equivalent of $150 per badge!

Maybe I should buy up all the stock and have an auction on E-Bay

There's bound to be somebody out there who can laser cut and etch some of these, even for small number runs.

I'll have to check and see if I can get one here. I just want one for the back of the car. I don't like the tiny little one on the hatch.

I've been browsing through the forum and SRT 6 owners seem a very contented bunch. After two test drives I can understand why. What an amazing machine. I'm moving from a Jag X 2.5 Sport which was no slouch but is just not in the same league.

With the kids grown up and gone and my wife's car sitting unused I thought it was time to buy something of a hooligan. The SRT 6 fitted the bill and the price. Ex Dealer demonstrator with 4k miles for equivalent of US$ 45k. New over here the SRT 6 is about US$ 65k

With petrol at the equivalent of almost $8 per US gallon over here and road tax at $800 per year for high CO2 emissions; you can see why dealers are giving discounts. Same Chrysler/Dodge dealer has a Viper SRT 10 convertible sitting on the forecourt, brand new. UK list is equivalent of US$ 140k. Told me he would take $100k!

Maybe next time.

Anyhow, I will keep y'all posted and try and contribute regularly to the forum.

All the best,
Andy G

Welcome,

I am sre you will love this special and unique car.

Enjoy!!
