SCOOP! Directly from NeedsWings Mouth!!! Intake Dyno Numbers.
Well, I just got off the phone with Rob from NeedsWings. He was on his way back from the Dyno and was pretty excited by what the results were.
I don't have the exact specifics, but just during the brief conversation we had it would seem he has a STRONG car in stock form to begin with, but none the less, here's what he told me. I'm sure he will be able to elaborate more once he has a chance to analyze all the info.
DynoJet Roller:
Best Run 100% Stock = Exactly 300 WHP
Best Run With his intake = 330 WHP
Consistent WHP with his intake = 322
By the way, this dyno was done while hooked up to a StarTech MB diagnostic Laptop that allowed the 5,000 RPM cutoff to be cleared for the runs. These runs, I assume were all the way up to 6,000 RPM. So, that seems about right, since most seem to be in the 280 ish range at 5,000, and peak power doesn't happen till 6,000 RPM. Mine came in today, and I'll be up at dawn installing it.

automatics don't have the dyno cut out, it's only the 6 speed cars that have this issue.
pretty impressive dyno, but I really don't trust them anymore, after seeing how inaccurate they can be from differing manufactures. Usually a stock srt6 is in the 250 hp range, maybe a previous owner had the ecu flashed?

I'll let Rob tell the tail in detail, as I don't have all the facts...

I would agree 100% with those dyno figures. My car has gotten faster yet which I think is due to the ECU adjusting for the increased flow. My times prove it as well.
I would find it hard to believe this car dynos at 250 HP. My Z06 dynoed at 365 stock and was around the same weight. I would think if it really is 100% MB engine with the 349 HP then it would be right at 300 stock.

If his little intake pipe brings power up that high, I have to say that I'm impressed!

I have seen some SRT6 dynos at ~ 290-300 rwhp. Which makes sense. 20% power loss to the wheels: 349 - 69.8 (the 20%) = 279.2 rwhp.
I read that it is usually a ~ 16% loss. If that were the case, the SRT6s would be putting down ~ 293.16.

hello, yes we hit the rollers tonight playing with the intake, stock pulls were 295, 296, 300, with new intake swapped in we made 319, 320, 321, 322, 330, we also picked up 20 some ft /lbs of torque going from 28x to 307.
we also played with the octane settings in the ecu, tried base, 89, and 93 settings, 89 setting kept the hp around 280, base and 93 were consistent in the 300 neighborhood, so not gains there, sorry i was hoping to pick up power by turning the ecu cal to 93 octane but it did not make a difference over the "base" setting. all the pulls for the before/after intake pulls were done in the "base" setting.
i'll post the dyno graphs up hopefully later tonight, its been a long day so maybe tomorrow but i'll try for tonight if i can get the scanner dug out of the basement and hooked up, got a couple cell phone vids also, i'll have to get them onto the computer and se if the sound came out good enough to hear the supercharger whine with the new intake on the car. overall we are very pleased with the results and these will go on sale on our website as soon as we get our results back from our test fitters. thanks, rob www.needswings.com

I haven't dynoed, but with time slips, Math and Physics, taking into account for drag, weight, gear ratios etc... I have estimated that mine puts down between 280-290 WHP. Now account for the 20% drivetrain loss, that equals 350 ish FWHP. Math, Physics and Time slips don't lie.

Maxwell anyone who knows anything about Z06's know that they dyno in the 350-370 range stock. I don't know where you get 290 from...maybe that's on 6 cylinders...it would be hard to believe the SRT loses 100 HP on a dyno...not even AWD cars lose anywhere near that much.
You don't think intake can add 20 whp? Go over to the Mustang Cobra site and see what a good intake can do for those cars...
With a blower on the motor it's easy to assume the more air the more ponys.

Easy bolt-on HP with no worries. Sounds like a winner to me!
