I bought the SRT-6 on eBay two weeks ago, it’s in Erie Pennsylvania. I’m going to drive it back to Texas. I was going to fly up there this past weekend, but they called me on Friday to say that while they were detailing the leather seat the technician spilled the cleaning solution on the center console and damage the Auto Stick module. The Dealership will fix it, but will not receive the part until Monday, at the earliest, and said they will call when it is fixed. The salesman also mentioned that they would now take care of airfare for me and “something” extra. To make lemonade out of lemons the weather in the area I was going to drive through is very rainy right now. So waiting is not so bad, but I still cannot wait to drive back. I have mapped several scenic drives on my laptop w/ GPS. Anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestion on anything that you think might help like, should I have it shipped, how to deal with the dealership, anything I should check do before the long trip. I’m adding about 500 mile to the trip, instead of taking just the interstates back. Thanks in advance.

 

I just got back from buying my SRT-6 on Sunday! I go to school in Fort Collins, CO and bought the car in Defiance, OH, so I had about an 18 hour drive back, but it was a good 18 hours. As far as prep for the drive, I did a good visual inspection of everything, but thats about it. I don't know if thats necessarily the best thing to do, but I didn't have any problems. I would definitely recommend bringing a radar detector with you. It saved my *** a few times on the drive. Also, a some good energy drinks helped me out... Other than that, all I can say is enjoy the car, its well worth the traveling!

Just take a really good look at the tires, drive around locally to confirm the engine is within operating temps, and check the fuel gauge.

Not yet, there is a problem with the transmission now, it will shutter. The Dealer will call when it is fixed. Daniel cannot go he his to work.

 

I am picking up my SRT at Cunningham's in Erie on the 10th. When and where are you going?

 

That's a good question. Gary Miller Dodge is supposed to call me when the car is fixed. They told me that last Friday the 26th. Their is a shutter in the transmission after they had changed out he Auto Stick module. The dealership could give me a call anytime now. I will call the dealership on Monday, if I haven't heard from them.
