Question for former "standard" Xfire owners who are now SRT-6 owners
If you've previously owned a coupe or roadster, then upgraded to a SRT (coupe or roadster)... would you do it again?
I'm currently a happy owner of 2004 coupe, but obviously considering taking the plunge.
Pro's? (besides acceleration ) Cons? (e.g. insurance, finding a dealership that can knowledgeably service the car, etc).
Thanks.

ps: I've been scanning the used car sites (CarMax, AutoTrader, Cars.com, Craigslist, etc), and there are very few SRT coupes listed west of the mid-west, and even fewer rag-tops. Almost none of the "new" SRTs are making their way out here. Strange.

I definitely would do it again, Yes! I love the SRT6 & hope to keep it for the rest of my driving years. Faster, Firmer & Sexier!

BTW Just buy one out East & Ship it, it will still be less than buying in California anyways, probably!

Re: Question for former "standard" Xfire owners who are now SRT-6 owners
No doubt about it.
Having always driven pickups, I felt I was due a nice sports car so I purchased a 2006 SSB Limited/AutoStick back in March. It was a flawless car that was great to drive; unfortunately I did not know about the "Auction SRT's" that were on the market.
I wanted an SRT when I saw one on the lot back in 05' but the timing was not right. When I was ready to buy this year - used cars were out of the question. My only regret was that I did not buy my SRT first; I could have used the money I lost on the limited - about $4K on pulleys and other AM upgrades.
BTW the price on my SRT was only $600 more then the Limited.
Yes I love my SRT - and though I loved the Sapphire color on the Limited, I see that color now on every new car model so I am glad I got the Aero Blue.
The SRT is a true sports car, with great acceleration and the AutoStick and the suspension handle much better then the Limited.
Go get one before it's to late.

Re: Question for former "standard" Xfire owners who are now SRT-6 owners
I would do it again as well...but they are VERY different cars. The 04' was a fun car, I would call it fun and “tossable”...the SRT is much more car and can be a handful with its power and in my mind is harder to simply drive around town, but much more fun from about 6/10ths on up. The SRT feels much heavier to me, yet (and obviously) much quicker (I realize that is a little oxymoronic). As much as I don’t think any sports car should have an automatic tranny, the SRT’s automatic (barring a DSG that I drove) is probably the best automatic I have experienced...so kind of a wash because it is incredibly nice to have an auto in stop & go and city traffic. Also, I like the suede seats much better than the 04's smooth leather. Yes, I would do it again and the SRT has to be one of THE top total values on the sports car market right now.

OH YEAH! I thought my '04 coupe was pretty fast and handled great, it would stay right with a new 300 h.p. Mustang GT. But the SRT 6 with the Renntech kit in it will blow the doors off just about any other car on the road, at least around where I live.

...I couldn't find anything and just curious how radical the change...

Re: Question for former "standard" Xfire owners who are now SRT-6 owners
just traded an '04 up to an '05 SRT-6, and couldn't be happier. Great price, better ride and handling, less rattles, nicer interior and paint, nicer wheels, better rear visibility (fixed spoiler doesn't stick up as far), and of course, more power.

I made the change and never looked back.
The only concern is now that I have a low mile SRT, it is painful to rack up miles on it.
I didn't have a problem putting miles on my Limited, but I would like to keep the SRT 'new'.
