I have 265/30 19 Sport Cups on the rear and it looks to me that 275/30's would clear without issue.

What Brand and Model tire did you use? And what di you pay for them? I wanna put steamroller tread on mine too...

Goodyear doesn't make an F1 GS-D3 in a 295/30/19 and that's what I want...

What wheels do you have the tires mounted on?

I have these:

Mounted on stock wheels.
They are suppose to be on a 10 inch wide wheel at the rear but they went on pretty easily.
$151 for the fronts and $251 for the rears.

typhoon,

Do your have any pics, especially from the back? I would love to see how these fill out the wheel wells and how they look to everyone I pass.

DAMN 400 AA A tread wear rating? I would think that the stock Michelin PS2 would hook better than those. That's a truck tire tread rating, they have to hard as a rock...

I'm looking for a more all out Extreme Performance Summer Tire.

Let's see what i can come up with...

I believe the 295's will have a major adverse effect on tire wear.

Why is that?

Even though it will go on and looks awesome, the middle of the tire will wear out much quicker than across the whole tread width.

That's actually fairly accurate. I had that happen on my old RX-7. I had 255s on 8 inch wheels, and the center would wear down and the outsides looked new. And no, they were not over inflated.

I am ready for tires myself and would love that size but I am concerned to go more than 275's. I am not sure what brand I will go with yet.

So what? I think it looks sweet. Besides, a lot of hard cornering will wear that extra tread on the outside...

Typhoon:

Please post a pic from the back of your SRT-6. We want to see how sweet those 295's look.

Steve and Never Enough:

1.) How much faster would they wear out? Given that new wheels aren't cheap, how fast would you be at breakeven? I have no idea and I'm no tire expert.

2.) Could you under inflate the tires a bit to at least help with the issue? Maybe it would even help soften the ride a bit - or would that be a problematic thing to do?

Let's do a quick little breakdown just to get an idea of the money we're talking about. I'm using simple numbers here to make the math easy. In reality, these numbers are probably off, but I don't know how much or which way.

For example, if you paid say $1K for 4 new wheels, and $800 for a new set of tires. Due to the center wear, they wear out 20% faster, so let's say 20k miles rather than 25k miles.

Compare at 100k miles:

If you bought new wheels and replaced the tires every 25K you would spend $1,000 + (4 x $800), or $4,200.

If you bought new tires only, every 20k miles, you would spend 5 x $800 or $4,000.

Of course, all of these assumptions [could / should / will be] wildly inaccurate. This also doesn't include any labor or other parts costs, etc., extra gas or maintenance, if it's your daily driver or weekend ride, and how long you plan to keep it.

I checked today and the max tire size recommended for the stock rim is a 265 although larger will fit. This is due to liability reasons etc.

Has anyone heard anything about the new Goodyear F1 A/S tires that go into production next week? They are supposed to have outstanding wet weather traction and handling along with a 420 tread life. I also received a price if $172 for the front 225/40/18 and $262 for 255/35/19 rear.
