Default My (wife's) New SRT6

Here it is guys! 2005 with 15 miles when we got it. Just under 500 already due in part to the 300 miles we drove to get it.

Traded the '04 Coupe on it and have no regrets!

KJMurphy - looks like there are two Graphite SRT6 coupes in the Schertz area...sorry, but I had to go with the best color!

These pics were taken at the garage in Dallas where we stayed. I haven't had a chance to detail it yet...that should come tomorrow or Wednesday. I plan to update the pics when I get it shiny!

Nice - you won't be sorry for the upgrade.

How about the details on the deal.

How was your paint? Bonham wasn't too good in taking care of its crossfires with bird poop all over the hood while I was there!

Arrogant sales people too as if we're not the ones feeding their mouth!

We got $16K for our trade (which was $500 more than their blind appraisal, said my car was really clean), and paid $25.9 for the SRT. They included the 8-80 Certification and we picked up a bumper-bumper warranty to add to the 8-80 powertrain.
They didn't want to haggle on the price of the car, and honestly I didn't feel like messing with it. I think if I would've gone in there without a trade I MAY have got $500 off, but not much more.

My paint seems to be decent. There is one minor scratch (not bad enough to require wet-sanding or buffing), and a few tape residue spots - I haven't detailed it yet, so I may find more once I give it a good once-over.

The cars didn't appear to be in too bad of shape. One or two had some bird droppings on them, and one or two had some very minor door dings. A few of them had the tape residue on the door panel on the interior...but otherwise, they seemed decent for a 2yr old + car that has never been 'detailed'. I will say that they are quite dusty in that town. If there is any breeze, don't expect a clean car even after it is made-ready.

The salesman seemed fine to me. They had 6 other people there looking to buy SRT6's when we were there at 9am on a Saturday, if that tells you anything. He basically told me to take a look at all of the cars, find the one you want, come see me and I'll get you the keys. He went and assisted the others while I looked. I kind of like it that way because you don't have someone over your shoulder the whole time. This allowed me to look down them really well for dents, dings, etc. and find the one I liked. When I was ready, we were in and out of the sales office and into the finance department in no time while the car was certified and washed. The only complaint I had was the finance department. I would recommend securing your own financing and if you plan to purchase an extended warranty, be sure to know before hand what they cost. The finance guy I had tried to pad his price WAYY too much - enough to where my payment was going to be $73 higher/month on a 5 yr note!! I ended up showing him the price on Chrysler Service Contracts and he got within $20 of it. Otherwise, he was trying to gouge me and I knew better.

To the rest of you - thanks for the compliments! We are excited!

If anyone is interested in knowing who I dealt with up there, I'll gladly give you his name and split the birddog fee with you ($100 referral). PM me.

Shawn,

Congrats on the purchase. We will now be twins at CTC get togethers.
