Default slight hesitation on initial acceleration (after cold start)

Hello all,

One more technical question...my car has been running really well with one odd quirk...When I start the car and back out of the driveway and then put the care in "Drive" and hit the gas there is a major hesitation like the car does not want to go...this happens the first minute or so until the car gets warmed up (like the first 2 or 3 times I accelerate from a stop) and then it's all good...just curious if I should have this checked out (could it be the throttle positioning sensor)?

Also on the "clicking" issue when putting the tranny in reverse, I cold started my sisters Limited Roadster and sure enough 2 loud clicks..at least this issue appears to be something "normal"...no worries there.

Thanks for any input into my hesitation issue.

I have the same hesitation periodically with my car till it warms up. It kind of throws you forward and back till the engine/trans are nsyc.

Hesitation when cold... check.
Clearly audible clicking sound going in or out of reverse... check.

Ahhh, gotta love the quirks of our automobiles - as long as these are not big issues, anyway.

I noticed mine doing the same thing this morning (only had the car since yesterday). Same double click in reverse and the hesitation when it was cold... Oh well, as long as that considered normal...

I'm glad it's not just me (some folks feel I make this stuff up)...mine hesitates about the first 3 or 4 starts from a dead stop...usually the worst the first time I put it in drive and hit the gas pedal to accelerate...if I go really, really light on the throttle it is not as bad...seems the worst hesitation is moderate (normal) pressure on the gas pedal...if I press the gas pedal too hard, it still hesitates but then chirps the tires once it goes...I have NO other problems when driving the car.

Anyway, I'm taking the car in for oil change not week and am going to have them check out the electronic throttle and the throttle sensor.

Just had this start on my car. Glad to hear its typical/normal. I was worried that the trans was going to grenade itself. I have no leaks and it works great other than right after a cold start.

Mine does the same thing when tis not warmed up any large amount of throttle and the car jerk hesitates a little seems normal just let her warm up a bit, also how many minles do you have? might be time for new plugs wires. Soes not happen often but it has happened.

The clicks are the brake calipers moving forward or backward when you put the car in gear. There is a thread about it somewhere. I know I asked when I first got mine too.

The slight hesitation was a combo of two things on mine way back. My fuel pump wasn't holding pressure and had hard starts and had the hesitation. It was warrantied and it went away. The other possibility is if your car is dead cold and you jump on the throttle. It may do it then as well. I warm it up always just in case.
