Re: supercharger whine
Well if you took all the baffling and venturies out of the intake, maybe sl 55 y-splitter to smooth things out on the intake, that should make it a tad louder. Also this is not a roots blower but the whipple/Lysholm blower, it has helical impellers instead of a straight edge, so this might cause less noise. It's definitely more efficient than a 6-71 style.

I was going to ask you if that did make the sound more pronounced. Good to hear! (no pun intended).

???
I always thought the SVT 2003 Cobra used an Eaton M112 unit... a roots-type blower. Those are the ones that give more of a whine from the factory. Same as on the Lightning. Some of the 80's-90's Thunderbirds used the M90... Ford has always been fond of the Roots blowers because of the cheap manufacturing costs. Efficiency is low with those types though, as they generate tons of heat. Ever see Lightings run several 1/4 mile runs in a row? There's almost always going to be a bag or two of ice laying around, to lay on top of and chill the blower in between runs.
Kenne Bell offers the blowzilla supercharger (twin-screw) for the '03 Cobra and that thing absolutely screams... whine is an understatement.

Probably not the best at filtering, but definitely most whine per dollar.
