Are these SRTs with the 2006 serial number supposedly part of the 928 world-wide production number? Or were they produced in addition to the 928?

 

We don't know. We've only seen 3 2006 SRT6s (2 roadsters, 1 coupe). A forum member did say that he heard from an insider that there are ~ 100 2006 SRT6s out there.
I think if a bunch of us keep submitting SRT6 questions through AskDrZ.com, etc. - we may get some answers . . . eventually.

So you drove the SRT-6, but you bought the Limited.
With a six speed? How did you pick one over the other?

 

SRT 6 was automatic and so is the '06 roadster... This vehicle is my wife's car for daily driver so what I wanted was "poo pooed"... But I'm sure everyone can understand that what Mama wants Mama gets.

Not too long ago on the msn auto page, it said the 2006 SRT6 would have a same colored windshield surround. Now it says the windshield surround will be black on the '06 srt6. What made them change that from just months if not weeks ago if the 2006 isn't even being produced. Other than the few we know about, which don't have anything the 2006 models were supposed to get.

 

My dealer said that the '06 Crossfires are actually european vehicles that did not sell and were re-spec'ed and sent to the states. There were no original 2006s imported. They said that the US is the only place that they have been able to get rid of them so that is why they sent them here. Of course, no SRT6's just base models.
