SRT6 Serial Numbers - Original thread closed
re: SRT6 Serial Numbers - Original thread closed
Just an FYI.
I've been doing some researching and number crunching on SRT6 VINs. Thought I would update on what I've found so far.
I have 238 SRT6 VINs (captured from ebay, cars.com, Crossfireforum.org, etc.) in my spreadsheet so far. 238 would be about 8% of the total SRT6 production of 2,944 (from what DC has said: 2,016 Coupes, 928 Roadsters). Given the preceding numbers from DC, 68.48% of SRT6s were coupes and 31.52% were roadsters. Since DC hasn't given up any information on color breakdowns - I thought I would break my data down to see what happens.
So far, the percentages from my snapshot of 238 look like this:
Of the 238, 182 (76.47%) are coupes with the following color breakdown:
Black - 28.02%
Aero Blue - 26.92%
Gray - 22.53%
SSB - 15.93%
Unknown - 6.59% (for these, I was unable to determine the color)
Of the 238, 54 (22.69%) are roadsters with the following color breakdown:
Black - 31.48%
Aero Blue - 24.07%
Gray - 16.67%
SSB - 12.96%
Unknown - 14.81% (for these, I was unable to determine the color)
For 2 (0.84%) of the VINs, I am unsure if they are coupes or roadsters.
So far, it is making some sense. Think about it - most SRT6s we see are Black or Aero Blue followed by Gray and then SSB.
I will continue to research and calculate. Just wanted to post what I've found so far - please don't take this as the 'gospel' or anything.
Later.

Great job RPM. That took time!
Interesting breakdowns. I'd say that is an excellent sampling and appears to bear out the numbers pretty accurately.

A little more info for you guys.
In my database so far, the earliest/latest VINs are:
SRT6 Coupes: Earliest - 25366, Latest - 60452
SRT6 Roadsters: Earliest - 39172, Latest - 60387
The high/low VIN spreads (difference between production/VIN number values) from my data are: lowest - 1 apart, highest - 4,181 apart.
I'll update as I gain more data.

Maybe if everyone took a trip to there local dealers and got a few build #'s, color and body type, it would help RPM fill in that spreadsheet a bit faster. I'll keep watch in my local papers and post as I find them. You're doing a great job with the research so far.
RPM, Have you thought about contacting the salvage company, LKQ, or something like that and see if you could get the build #'s for the couple of totaled SRT's that they have?

Running results.
The tally so far for active forum members is 28 reported. However checking thru the other thread about SRT6 owners age I found another 36 who haven't given their SRT6 info here. Need your SN, coupe/roadster and color.

If you could look for some salvage ones at different places, that would be great.
I think my database is up to over 245 now. I'll try and post some updated figures this week.
I would like to get up to at least ~295 in order to have a true 10% of total production.
If everyone chips in, we may be able to find a great deal of the total production.

Still not sure about that 2006 SRT6 on ebay. I have calls and emails into DCX for explanation. I'll post my findings.
