So far I have my bot scanning AutoTrader and Cars dot coms. They are in the test stages right now. I decided to log ALL Crossfires rather than just SRT's for 2 reasons:
1) Because I could
2) Because not all SRT's are listed as SRT's in any obvious manner, and it only becomes obvious if you decode the VIN.
After I get the bots working correctly, I plan to write a utility to mesh the info from the bots into RPM's database. Then we'll have a bunch of info on all Crossfires.
Just today, my bots logged 1500 Crossfires on Cars and 3415 on AutoTrader. I plan to add eBay to the list too.
Isn't the information age wonderful?
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot:
What does everyone think of putting up a web page for people to register their Crossfire? This info would go into the database. It would ask for VIN, exterior and interior colors, tires (hi-perf or all season), nav, country and (if applicable) state. No names or addresses.

I like the idea of a web page for logging also. Here is a good example of one maintained by Rick Griffith from nastyz28.com.

The Crossfire Registry will not have option boxes like Camaros........

Tom,
Thank you! Great Idea, I Love Numbers!
Get those bots busy!
Can't wait to see some rough numbers.
The Biggest remaining Question I have is How many of the 75,000+ XFs are in the USA & Canada?
Also How many of the 938 SRT6 Roadsters & 2016 SRT6 Coupes are in the USA?
(+12/13?)
There are an awful lot overseas, many more than we imagine, I'll bet!
(Maybe 25%, 30%, 35%, maybe even more, especially the SRT6's 'gut feeling'!)

Tom 2112 -
Great work. I think the web site would be cool. If there is any way I can help, let me know.
p.s. I think this internet thing is going to catch on some day.
Geezer

I just talked to a friend of mine that's in town from Detroit. He works for a materials handling firm who's biggest customer it Chrysler. So he knows a few people on the inside. He's going to see if he can get someone inside to give us official numbers.
I know several people have contacted Chrysler and asked for numbers, and got bupkis. So I'm not getting my hopes up, but you never know. He's come up with some crazy stuff for me before.
He also mentioned one posssible reason why Chrysler won't give the numbers: they don't actually know from the production end - at least the folks here probably don't, since the plant was in Germany.
Anyway, cross your fingers!

Ugh!!!!
My bots are crashing. The darn application that I created them in crashed on Saturday, and I lost all my work. I reassembled them on Sunday, and the app is crashing left and right. So the bots are dead for now. I think it had something to do with the memory requirements of scraping over 4000 web pages.
Oh well. At least I have some numbers to post, so it was not all for nothing.
Does anyone have the brochures for 2004, 5, 6, 7, and 8? I'd like to see what the colors were called each year, and to see which colors were offered each year (interior and exterior).
Thanks - more to follow as I clean up what I found.

I was told that the last 4 digits of the serial # was the number of the cars manufactured but if this is true does it not relate to the SRT? My 4 digits represent a number of over 5000 therefore it can't be relating the SRT's number being there were only something like2019 produced. Is this info correct?
Thank you,
Mike

So is there anyway for us to understand any of the serial #'s relating to our SRT's?
