Crossfire Documentation Collection
re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
Nothing seams to be listed as Series 7 or Line N on the interior or exterior parts in the parts manuals? I am trying to figure out what parts I need for some cosmetic repairs on the inside and outside and how much they would cost. I cannot tell what parts would be for my car. I guess Series and Line in the VIN have nothing to do with Series and Line in the parts listings? If not, what Line, Series, and Body is the SRT-6?
Series Choices:
P = PREMIUM
S = SPORT
X = SPECIAL
Line Choices:
C = CHRYSLER
Z = CHRYSLER (RHD)
Body Choices
27 = 2-DR CONVERTIBLE
29 = SPECIALTY COUPE
My guess would be Series X, Line C, Body 29 ?

re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
Hi Jevs, and welcome to the discussion (although I want to ask: have you joined CICCI at http://www.crossfireinternational.com/ yet?)!
You got it right, as long as your SRT6 is the Coupe (hardtop, hatchback) body style.
Those terms come from the traditional Chrysler way vehicles are described, mainly for Sales purposes, but also within the company.
Yes, X = (for Crossfire) the SRT6 varient, C is used to differentiate the Chrysler left hand drive from the (also Chrysler, but something has to distinguish) right had drive (for UK, Australia, Japan, South Africa, etc.), and 27 is the 'convertible' (Roadster for Crossfire) body, while 29 means the 2-door hardtop (Coupe for Crossfire) body type.
Good luck fixing up! And, how about sharing any good sources for such body parts? Those have been, may be, problematic, given the orphan situation of our car.

re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
Look what I found - complete pinouts of the back of our OEM Head Units.
I'd like to offer them to be hosted here - I am currently working up a mod to make my FRS radio play thru the speakers of the car AND mute the AM/FM/CD when someone is talking on the FRS.
Anyway, found it and thought I'd share it for what it's worth.

Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
"SRT6" has been removed from the thread title
This thread actually contains documentation for ALL models of Crossfires now since it was started in 2007

Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
I want a service manual for my 2006 limited covertable------thanks bkrdoug bkrdoug80@gmail.com 352 634 4685
Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
In the first post here the title of this manual is wrong, it is not specific to the SRT6. It covers all 2005 NA and SRT coupes and roadsters. It also will cover the later models of the NA and 2006 SRT as well.
For NA coupe owners and non roadster specific problems, the 2004 manual is better laid out and easier to use than the 2005 manual as the index is more explicit.
SRT6 Service Manual [79.7MB]
(SRT6 Specific Service Manual)
Roadster owners may not think there is anything for them.

I had not realized that there may be confusion. I have adjusted the description of the two items in question to read as follows:
"Parts & Service Documentation List
2004 Crossfire (Coupe & Roadster) Service Manual [80.3MB]
(same document previously hosted by users on this forum, just another location to grab it)
2005 Crossfire NA & SRT6 (Coupe & Roadster) Service Manual [79.7MB]
(Includes SRT6 Specific Service Information)"

Also the new title for the 2004 is wrong, there was no roadster the first year and it is not mentioned in the manual.
Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
For the record really as it only contains the specific accessories that were available for the Crossfire, the lighted sill is still available though. It contains accessories for other Chrysler cars as well.

Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
MMZ Thank you!!
I'm a new xover owner (1 week last Friday) and this is just what the doctor ordered. Whenever I get a spare minute I'm reading through one of the documents.
Quick question to you or anyone else listening, I wanted to take the headlights out to remove the frosting on the cover and the service manual references an access panel on the inter fender to remove the lower bolts. Do I need to remove the front wheel to access this panel? I couldn't find a diagram of this panel anywhere in the service manual.
Thanks again.

These puppies are a real bi**ch to secure when removed without damaging the lower mounting tabs.
Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
Live in the Northeast and the cars in a cold garage. Just want to start working on it and thought I could just bring the headlight units in the house. But from the sound of it I'd better just wait another 4-6 weeks, don't want to create more problems.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Crossfire Documentation Collection
( never have gotten around to cleaning up all that sling-off from the pegboard at the back of my workbench )
Here's a suggestion :
If you have the time, go ahead and remove the entire bumper cover, then it's easy to get to the lights, and you can clean up all the years of grime you will find. ( probably also some corrosion since you are in the NE )
